Apple increases its R&D budget by $500 million

The $500 million injection marks a 33% increase over Q2 of last year, and up to $4 billion in this fiscal year.

So increased R&D budget, yet the next iphone/ipad/iproduct will look and function the exact same except it will have an "all new" feature. Perhaps they'll include a screen saver, or maybe it will come with a dedicated play/pause button..

    Nah, the only reason why apple can afford to spend so much is because all it does is try an sue rival companies and fuels its operation with those winnings lol

          After the profit fall I think Apple can see it's impending doom so it's trying to fight back.

          Maybe they should create a subsidiary under a different name to cover low/mid budget phones.
