I would give SD8 gen1 a score 6 / 10. Pure because it get's so hot so easy. Big no. Battery life is maybe a tiny bit better but not so good anyway. Performance is the same; they are both very fast but speed is already many years a non-issue with these flagship chips.

I first read that the S23FE was gonna have an Exynos 2200 variant and thought like "noone is gonna want that variant", then I saw that the other one has the Snapdragon 8G1 lol. Normally I wouldn't be against using last year's flagship SoC, it's just that last year's SoCs were all terrible. At least there wasn't as much discrepancy between Snapdragon and Exynos, they both sucked.

Like it's good but not worth the price Samsuck set for it. I only got it because the promo was too good on it. It's still firmly a flawed product and not as smooth as my old iPhone. Pixel etc are way smoother and faster.

Rooting for this but I think I'm gonna pass with this one. We know that the exynos 2200 is not power efficient. Look at Galaxy s22. Well let's see when its review comes out.

Samsung sticking it again to its most loyal customers. What share of the USA market does it now have?

blue, 16 Jul 2023You really don't understand the problem, do you?Well if they sell only qualcomm or only exynos with every phone made they would do better.

At first network carriers or companies represent networking sites should accomodate with what phone companies manufacture and not othervise.
It always should be this way.

This is S22 series all over again. Also, considering that Samsung is responsible for both Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, this is the only time where I'm okay taking the Exynos.

[deleted post]haha if i were to own samsung company i would plan release cheap phone with old chipset 22nm exynos 1.5ghz for 500$ ez 100x profit samsung fans will buy anyway

Cpt.Power, 15 Jul 2023Well i understand this but then why other companies can use... moreSony, Motorola, Asus and OnePlus do not have division to make own SoC for mobile.
Obviously there is always huge pressure to push exynos that often samsung mobile has to obey.

When sony took away earphone jack in from xz2, the decision was not from mobile team, but from above. They had to accept.
Oppo clearly tells what realme and oneplus can have or not, what they can do or not.

Exynos powered S series in USA would cost more than Snapdragon powered S series because of qualcomm fees related to cdma used by Verizon (largest telecon there). Samsung does not want to pay extra money for this.

Also, there is deal with AMD for GPU used by exynos flagship. Samsung has to use SoCs with it. Samsung is stuck in this deal. They cannot say "no more exynos forever".

it's the same processor as the xperia 5iv , it's going to be a disaster, it feels like a heater and blocks in games. in summer even worse blocking of camera, gps, games. we wait to see.

                                  He could earn even more.

Ivan, the 8gen1 is also made on samsung node, its the 8+gen1 thats on tsmc. 8gen1 and 2200 are about the same.

The s6 story costed a lot, to samsung electronics, reason no other exynos was used again.

Samsung would love to have exynos only, because samsung electronics would be giving most money to samsung semicon instead of qualcomm.

SD8g2 is $160 .. Now imagine how many units sold with this chip.
Few billions are going to qualcomm's pocket when could be going to samsung semicon
