There isn't any optional even faster charging support needed for the customers who buy their phone. If faster charging support is what needed in the first place, then do not buy Pixel, iPhone etc instead buy a cheap China phone.

          Yeah, except my information is based on my own personal experience, while others try to be a physicist, or a chemist. I agree, it would make sense if 50W, or faster charging would be terrible for your battery, but it just simply isn't.

                It's OPTIONAL for a reason, you don't have to charge faster than 23-27W, if you don't want to.

                      As mentioned by Darling Yext, any phone can be charged slowly, but not every phone can be charged fast.

                      It's good to have options for those concerned about fast charging like you you can use a low Ampere usd-c cable like 2A & for me I would use 8A usd-c cable for faster charging with the same charger. Google is losing a lot of potential customers, I for one can NEVER buy a slow charging phone. If Pixel 8 pro had fast charging I would be the 1st one to buy it.

                        As I already mentioned to somebody else here, if one doesn't like a product, they can look elsewhere for the product they wanted, as simple as that.

                        I simply do not care charging speed hence I do not find 27w a concern. People buy iPhones not for its charging speed right ?

                                    Wrong, mine are based on my own personal experiences with fast charging.

                                    People against fast charging simply have no experience with it, because they've never used a phone with faster than 33W charging and are basing their opinions about Apple, Google and Samsung not moving forward, which "must" mean that slower is safer.
