"I'd be surprised if Samsung decided to return to Exynos for the important European market"
Why? That never stopped them before

Dear Samsung if u love exynos so much, I have an advice: please sell it in your motherland only ( south Korea ) and let the rest of the world enjoy snapdragon please.

Always in a rush!!!
They'll throw numbers here and there but we know very well Qualcomm's chips are better. Mediatek is making solod gains too. Samsung just appears lost
A series
FE again
Then last year's phones too.

Anonymous, 26 Jul 2023The ones who care will avoid S24's like the plague, if... moreI'll add. not even just power numbers, I was more talking about efficiency, which will be awful as usual especially when paired with the WORST mobile modem out there.

The ones who care will avoid S24's like the plague, if the astonishing (/s) Tendor G2 numbers are anything to go by.

I remember the days when the Exynos used to be far superior than the Qualcomm variant, Note 4 days with the Korean/NA? Variant used to go so hard. Latin America and other countries getting new version probably gonna be crying, but hey, I'm optimistic Samsung will get a good alternative for the S24 series in Q1 2024.

Sure why not by making maximum profit to sell it to 3rd world countries and set the price the same and telling the people how it is the same by bullying others who are less well or aware.

It doesn’t matter how many compute units it has, if it can’t sustain the performance for more than a few minutes (if any).

Unlike Apple's, Samsung's take on in-house CPUs proved to be inferior, regarding both power and efficiency.
This is beyond just raw numbers of benchmark apps, we're talking :
-Worse camera quality (than the same phone with Snapdragon) across the board
-Worse battery life (than the same phone with Snapdragon)
-Medioce thermals (also impact battery life)
-Worse performance, about one gen behind (the same phone with Snapdragon)
Add it all up and you have a significantly worse device, marketed as the same. Not once was Exynos superior or equivalent to Snapdragon in the categories mentioned above.
Clearly, Samsung isn't interested in creating a superior or Snapdragon-matching Exynos.
So why & how would Samsung go back to doing such thing ? 3 reasons.
1) Money.
They're making a lot more money on Exynos devices, since they don't have to go through Qualcomm for thoses. For flagships, that's about 100 bucks saved per device.
2) Ignorance is bliss
We, tech-heads of the internet, tends to think everyone has our knowledge & skills regarding consumer electronics, but it's simply not the case. Most people have never heard of Exynos, or Snapdragon. Also, some places of the world such as the usual "Exynos Regions" tends to be (I live in one) less tech-savvy ; the people and the media are more (very) likely to miss the whole Exynos/Snapdragon debacle.
However, Samsung know very well that in certain places like the US, such thing would never fly. So they keep shipping Qualcomm Snapdragon phones there.
The icing on the cake is that Exynos customers tends to pay more.
3) Exynos was only gone temporarily (so it seems)
This year's Galaxy S23 (S14) was supposed to be released with its Exynos chip, but the chip proved to be so mediocre, Samsung decided to cancel its release last minute, and to only use Qualcomm's solution for the whole S23 family. Pixel 8 users are in for a treat. Because of reason 1, it seems Samsung resumed the development of Exynos.
TLDR : Samsung isn't after creating superior or Snapdragon-equivalent Exynos chips, they just want to make more money on phones sold in less tech-savvy regions. This year's Exynos was too mediocre so it was cancelled last minute (Tensor G3 is DOA) in favor of Qualcomm solution across the globe, but it seems it was only a one-time thing.

Nobody will buy an inferior exynos after having snapdragon across all regions on s23. If this turns out to be true, might as well go for the s23 considering the fact that s24 might not bring anything significant or groundbreaking.

Hope United States gets Snapdragon instead. Won't buy any Exynos. It may be good enough but for long term it is horrible.

My Prediction 8g3 vs E2400
Single core: 15% more for 8g3
Multicore: 20% more for 8g3
GPU strength : 30% more for 8g3
Battery endurance : 20-30% more for 8g3
Not counting better modem, ISP and lower price (🤣🤣🤣)

Theoretically speaking... If these chips had a good fabrication process (either TSMC or Samsung stepping up their game), would they be seen as better choices than they are? On par with Mediatek/Qualcomm high end?
