We need a company like Sony to bring back innovation to the tablet market tbh.... Android tablets today are inputting things that nobody is asking for like 11-16" displays when tit doesnt event have the SOC capable enough to make use of them like Apple SOCs do. You can do video rendering and editing on an M1/2/3 ipad pro but you cant do the same on an android tablet. Furthermore the lack of IO is just embarrassing for such a large product.... Theres so little innovation in the Android tablet space.

Nowadays, you have the choice to go Adaptive 120Hz for the best compromise of battery life and smoother mobile gaming experience.

As much as I adore the Tablet P a lot, I still maintain LG got the right idea of dual display experience by making a detachable case. That way, you don't need to carry two screen all the time and only use it if you want or need to. That's the reason why I left the foldable bandwagon by selling my Samsung Galaxy Fold and got myself an LG V50 with its Dual Screen case. Needless to say, it's one of the best decision I have ever made in my life.

A 60hz screen isnt good enough considering we have 120hz screens on our phones and thats the way tvs are going too.

Armorkingu, 07 Aug 2023I have LG G2, G3, G4.
You have?
G2 is problematic ph... moreyou have a point…
but you seem to judge from the “distant past”…
not that lg mobile has present and future, haha…
i started with g4, ye, it bootlooped… but mine is related to degraded battery, not the soc or board… only found our that it was the batterty when i changed it - and you know how easy that is…
so i continued on to v50s dual screen, g8, then wing (which still receives android 13)… every brand has issues… perhaps you have not met such on your current selection of brands… but, if all people have your mindset, perhaps no one will buy any smartphone…
because look - ISSUES like the bootloop…
samsung has the note7 fiasco (yep, distant past like the bootloop), pink and green lines esp on s20 series, burn ins and black dots…
iphone had the bend gate, battery gate, horizontal stuck leds, green screen, white screen of death, thermal issues due to charging, oftentimes “stopping” not just slowing charging, etc…
and some xiaomis even have deadboots…
we give these free pass, but not lg? i guess that is more “being blind”

I love seeing the dual display solution still catches on with Microsoft Surface Duo and LG Dual Screen case, but I wonder why Sony isn't making a tablet. 4K resolution doesn't make much sense on a smartphone, but it makes a lot of sense on a tablet, even with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2023Because it has no blind followers.I have LG G2, G3, G4.
You have?
G2 is problematic phone, screen stutters like crazy after about 6 months in.
G3 while not bad, is not good either.
G4 bootloops after 1 year.
Why should I buy another LG phones then? It's obvious they don't care about their phone designs. Stop defending a company that you don't own. Only blind followers do that.

And they don't make enough sales to survive. They were certainly not mocked by reviewers. People just did not cover their obvious faults in almost each series.
V60 is nothing special, just another phone. Easy to replace, if you forget brand loyalty.
LG is remembered as a brand of poor quality and many faults. I have used their phones myself and that's the only thing that remains. I certainly don't miss them.

Mediatek sux, 06 Aug 2023Samsung copied foldables from this, sony always best. Truly... moreNice joke. I appreciate it.👍👍👍
Samsung invented foldable waterdrop hinge and foldable display (has its own patents since 2016). That would explain why it is so hard to release foldables globally without paying patent fees to Samsung first.
Also, the design of sony "foldables" above copied the design of nintendo ds and nokia communicator. Nothing to be proud of.

blue, 06 Aug 2023So why is LG a dead brand? Because unique was not successful. True but sales numbers doesn't always equate to good or bad. Their products simply weren't marketed correctly or somewhere along the sales/product development/R&D channels, they became uncompetitive. That doesn't mean their devices were bad, contrary actually they were fantastic. Successfully selling something in an ever changing market isn't actually easy. For all the major multinational corporate successes we get, there are hundreds of thousands of failures that get lost to history. And many of those failures were due to bad timing or just terrible market conditions. Nuance is everything.

Microsoft's Duo line is in deed a flop (onky of you care about marketshare or sales) but I have a Duo 2 and won't give it up until another folding device comes out with the exact same or better durability as two GLASS screens. Anything less would be a complete waste, because the Duo line is THE most durable folding/dual screen device to date. Unmatched. These phones are absolute tanks.

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2023V60 had many costs cuts to be below $800 retail price.
... moreI'm not sure what cost cutting measures you're talking about. The display is 60hz, but the panel itself is technically capable of 90hz with custom ROMs, and it looks great as ever, so it's not that. It's not RAM, Samsung still to this day has 8GB of RAM in the base model despite costing a lot more.
Consumers do find ridiculous things to complain about.... I'm not saying an 800$ phone as good as the LG V60 was is possible now with inflation and all that stuff, and I don't think companies should go out of their way to offer a crazy good value for money, but I do think companies charging 1500$ for a phone is a bit ludicrous depending on the model. Especially in the case of Samsung or Apple, they really don't need those profit margins, and they're kinda giving consumers the short end of the stick.

blue, 06 Aug 2023So why is LG a dead brand? Because unique was not successful. No because LG made some poor business decisions, invested too much money in concepts that never saw the light of day, didn't invest enough money into advertising, and were dunked on by every reviewer under the sun so Samsung or Apple could be the bestest. There's a reason the LG V60 is still being used by many people to this day even those who might wish for more computer power or faster charging: there's nothing else like it. There is no replacement for the LG V60. LG going out of business was not an outcome of making bad products. Nor was it an outcome of making unique products. Say what you want about LG, but you can never say they were a failure. Out of business or not their spirit lives on and their products will be remembered by those that really used them.

you have to suffer, 06 Aug 2023a 21:9 tablet would be a monitorA monitor is a display with no computer. A tablet is a mobile, generally android or iOS touch screen display with a computer built in at or above a 8" screen size. An all in one is monitor with a PC built in. Knowing this, we can determine that a touchscreen 21*9 display with an android computer built in, is in fact still a tablet.

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2023Your ideas are all stuff not worth from financial point of ... moreThinking again, its also true they get more money by having multiple devices, than one nxt gen device.
Looking at VR headset's performance now, it would be totally possible from hw side.
But point also is, they got no new tablets or foldables, doing the same would be quite meaningless unless they can do better.
Sony is not a company to copy stuff and sell cheap after all...

vrvly, 06 Aug 2023I feel like lg made a lot of interesting devices, sort of l... moreLG did nothing to stop money bleeding.
Just keep doing same things.
Quiting Africa , Asia ( except South Korea) and Oceania would have helped to decrease costs. LG was doing well in USA and LATAM.
Sales of G and V became too low to pay their bills. Basically selling almost just K series. Revenue could not cover investments.
