If they disabled unlocking bootloader at least they should increase 2 os upgrade to 3 or 4.

It would definitely reduce the value of the phone if it's true. A manufacturer's claims about software support are just as completely worthless as their claims about durability. My usual experience is that OEM bug fixes stop after around 4 months and features start breaking at 1 year, even if the phone is still technically getting software updates sometimes. LineageOS saves it.
I'm liking the headphone jack and North American 5G support on the future Zenfone 10, but a bit concerned about having only 512GB storage and some Asian radio bands missing. A permanently locked bootloader means a potentially short lifespan too. It's not looking like a good buy anymore. A midranger with a microSD slot, headphone jack, and disposable price would be a better deal.

Your so professional hacker/cracker and arrogance is to the roof.
It's not normal to install new OS on phones as that is like less then 1% of the market who do it. Also it's not hard to find a tutorial in youtube on how to install new OS on a phone.
I installed some custom OS on my Asus Nexus 7 to something Android 6 from kitkat 4.4 or something long time ago. I had also Redmi note 5 Ai dual cam and didnt install new OS on it cause i am lazy to go trough the progress and i just dont care.
So am i also a noob cause of that ?
You just have the daily need of offending someone out of nothing to make your day

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2023Me and my iPhone 11 🤣🤣🤣 at Android users crying over bootlo... moreI care for the option to get to install a new OS on my phone but that dont mean i will do it. There still are options there that allow it. Also i dont buy phones based on there update schedule as a lot of them just mess up the phone with some errors like battery drain or make the phone slower so you go buy new phone and that last one was what Apple was doing.
I dont much even care for security updates as i can always have some antivirus app on my phone that does the job of security for me and also updates all the time.
Updates have risks and when a update brick your phone then what you do ? Especially when warranty period is over ? They give you max 2 years of warranty so then what you do with your 4-5 years of updates that have risk to brick your phone ?

Looks like I won't be getting ROG Phone next year. Such a shame. These companies have to rely on enthusiast community because they're simply not mainstream enough like Samsung. And now without ability to root the phone or flash a custom ROM they're just losing customers.

Phone Critic, 07 Aug 2023OK ... Then increase your Android Support from 1 to 3 Years... moreRising warranty is different then software support. Electronics mostly have 1 year warranty if your not in EU where it's mandatory to have minimum 2 years of warranty.
Ahh well people dont have brains anyways when they buy Asus phone and pay more on them then iphone and Samsung S class while get a lot less in software support and also from hardware and camera. Why i say iphone and S class is that there standard models are a bit smaller then Zenfone 8-10 while have you more screen to body ratio with larger screen while body size be just a mm smaller. People just get fooled of 5.9inch screen and think that is more compact then 6.1 inch screen size

It's just HILARIOUS. They once invited third party ROMs to make custom firmware for ZenFone 6. How time flies!

Apparently, it's not your phone; you just pay for it.
Everyone has access to it - the state, Google, the manufacturer, the telecom, almost everyone - except you, the buyer.
It's important to understand your situation.
