Seems that with price increase of the regular 8 the 8 pro will be better value.

Seems like no rounded edges, finally...
        Flat displays are best.

The 8 is looking a nice shape and size. Getting pretty close to the P5. For a good size segment thats a nice sweet spot. Charging speed no issue. My P5 is used a lot and goes the distance. I imagine the 8 will do the same. A little charge top up sometimes on extra heavy days is all i need to do. Happy to see rounded corners return. Software experience is great. Looking forward to its release

I personally, even as a "colour-blind as a brick" person, can tell apart Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel Fold and Pixel 6a/Pixel 5 - to me the difference is huge, seriously, I mean it honestly.
I know many people can shrug a lot of those differences as meaningless or not extreme enough, but to me, it is a big difference.

I am curious to see camera upgrades in real photos taken during reviews and video capture that should have use better noise reduction with better SOC processing.
Other than that, honestly I don't care for anything else. I mean better battery life in idle would be appreciated, faster charging as well, but seriously it is so low priority to me, I could hardly care less.

                      Eg: S23 Has Android 13 and will get 14, 15, 16 and 17
But Pixel 8 has android 14 and will get 15, 16 and 17

Is it will be better if they add additional android update? absolutely yes but I think it's kinda a deal with Samsung prevent them from doing this to make sure they don't update their phones more years than Samsung phones, this is the only reason in my opinion

finally rounded corners rather than squarish one.

Wish its less than 6.1" form factor and compact

Stoon, 08 Aug 2023i'm still using my old 10w chargers on all my high end... moreSamsung and Apple being relucant to adopt fast charging is less to do with battery life and more to do with safety and regulation, particularly in the EU and USA where these brands are dominant. It's all Chinese manufacturers that feel able to take the risk with new technology like this because they are less regulated and less exposed to litigation and reputational damage than tech giants like Apple, Google and Samsung.

A battery that degrades somewhat is kind of a good thing for the manufacturers anyways - although it is clear that battery and charging tech has improved so much over the last couple of years that battery life is not significantly degraded by fast charge anyway. Now that companies like RealM, Xiaomi and Oppo have proved that it's possible then I'm sure we'll seee the rest upping their game too.

I hope they improve the thermal performance and throttling related issues are resolved this year. Google has been really holding back on the performance, battery and charging department. Also now is the year they should really make it 4 full OS updates and 5 years of security patches like Samsung for the flagship lineups.
