Anonymous, 12 Aug 2023New stocks will be created with usb C, old gets cleared by ... moreCleared by 2024? I don't every single keyboard and mouse that has ever been made for pc will be gone by January lol. And then we still have to wait for pc and motherboard manufactures to create and test new motherboards with mostly type c ports before releasing them. And that's if they don't just make 2 seperate versions for different regions. Which actually WORSENS it's environmental impact and e waste

I still use the charger it came with, but I sometimes use the laptop's charger as well. Also, I think that there are safeties handling the voltage and whatnot. At least on Samsung phones.

blue, 08 Aug 2023Amazing, how fast people forget about adapters...I didnt forget. But spending more money just to buy a product, and then have it delivered to you, that you have to use just to continue using your existing product is anti consumer and creates more greenhouse gases. Not too much lag or reduced transfer/charge speed

Allthough it may look like that such activity of goverments are good for consumers but it actually promotes restriction on open and free market.

good for them. it's a good move

Well its not USB C like USB C.
While most companies uses USB C 4.0 and will go better Apple is at USB C 2.0 for their 1000-1300 eur phones. Only top line gets USB C 3.2 which is still very far from USB C 4.0.
When they reach ISB C 4.0 even Xiaomi low grade phones will have USB C 10.0 or above.

Good move. Saudi arabia is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) players in arab world. If only india made the same move, the worldwide adoption of usb-c would become standard across all the devices. First europe is forcing at least apple to move into usb-c, saudi would force many chinese companies with their mid tier phones to use the same standard, and india would put a lot of pressure for the low end phone makers.

One cable for all. Why not, I don't see anything wrong with that. It's a small step towards reducing unnecessary e-waste.
