Galaxy Z Flip5 trounces Razr 40 Ultra in fold test, surpasses Samsung's official claims

Samsung says that the Z Flip5 has been tested to 200,000 folds, but the phone phone doubled that in a multi-day test against its Motorola-made competitor.

    Not surprising considering Motorola has been owned by a mediocre Chinese company for a decade now.

    I guess a good long-term protection plan is needed for these foldables. "Protection from what? Zee Germans?" lol

      every 10 minutes 20 hour every day is 120 * 365 = around44k is one year warranty ... samsung at this period give every minute warranty after trade-in and again flip-flop fap&fap

        I still prefer the Razr 40 ultra because I will not be force to open the phone more often, multiple tasks can be done when the phone it is closed. While the Flip 5 need badly to be opened most of the time. The Razr 40 Ultra is a better choice for me.

                PorkHotdog, 09 Aug 2023This is why Samsung is the best and Chinese products are al... moreLet's just say Chinese companies, and this goes for pretty much all the known ones (Xiaomi, the BBK brands i.e. Oppo, Vivo, iQOO, Realme, OnePlus) embellish the truth a bit in some cases and they've been caught doing shady things before but Samsung isn't completely innocent either and has been known to do some questionable things to promote features but I guess they can't be faulted here for exceeding their own claims. Regardless, I am not a fan of the UTG used in foldables, the hand feel versus glass will always feel cheap to me and not warrant the asking price.

                      Only Zac Nelson aka Jerryrigeverything will prove whether is or is not Samsung Z fold and Z flip well build.
                      HHonestly i trust Zac over paid advertising by Samsung. äEven Motorola can do better at least they dont shuffle mud over Samsung for advertising.
                      And cost half the price with 100 in accesories in box.
                      Samsung have a lot to learn.

                        like it said in the vids, this test with human hand at least much better reflecting daily usage than manufacture-test with robots that doing precision pressure/movement

                            here we in 5th iteration, few days ago both phone surpassing 1 million preorder which breaking previous record, that because people not hearing many issue with the phones, especially related to folding/fliping-durability, so people confident enough getting it

                              Lab tests, like this always show crazy good results, this isn't how you would use your phone on a daily basis, so it might last even less, or more, depending on the specific usage of a person.

                                No. That's ridiculous. New set of phones for each test, or the tests are worthless.

                                  Even if someone opens their phone 100 times a day- that would be 36500 times per year
                                  For 125,000 folds - 3.5 years
                                  For 400,000 folds - 10.9 years
                                  that being said, I still wouldn't buy these 1000$+ folding origami experiments lol

                                    Well Razor 40 Ultra shows yet another thing why it's trash. Close to the hinge the outer screen have like box of empty under it and also the screen have no sturdy platform under it so you can basically have your phone in a back pocket and sat on something and it breaks. Now the hinge quality shows it's a trash too.

                                    All i see is excuses and more excuses. It's a phone that cost in 4 digits so you cant have these types of flaws with it and there is no excuse to make excuses for them.
                                    I understand when the phone cost 200-400 bucks then we can talk about these issues and make excuses for them
