Personally I'd expect better performance from Sony, well known for market leading maker in photography tech. But the way Sony is holding back better photo capabilities in their phones just doesn't justify the price. Sony xperia photography department simply pathetic.

At the end of May, Fujitsu(FCNT) announced they are bankrupt. Sharp phones are extremely expensive, their flagship R8 Pro costs like 1500 bucks, and that phone has ONLY one camera, so NO telephoto lens or periscope camera with optical zoom, and no UW camera. Yet they charge people 1500 Dollars. I wonder what will happen with this company too. So my point is that the Japanese although they are diligent, but their products are way too expensive, and they are not that innovative as they where 15 years ago. I remember like in 2008, they where so advanced that not even Nokia had any chance to compete with them. Unfortunately things are different now.

Even though I am mightily impressed with this year's Xperia 1 v, my 2020 Xperia 1 ii is still doing a solid work and still not seeing any sign for replacement. Even a friend of mine is still daily driving his 2019 Xperia 1.

They should only make flagships once every 2 or 3 years then focus more on low-ends/midranges at reasonable prices. But Sony is Sony, maybe just shutdown their mobile department.

2 years of OS updates is UNACCEPTABLE for the prices asked!
SD Card support is a wonderful feature on the other hand.
They did have heating issues however with the mark 5 series of phones they seem to have brought cooling to an acceptable level!

The only problem with the Sony smartphones is the price and the lack of marketing, otherwise I would say their phones are one of the most fully packed. Till now they're almost the only ones who offer microSD, audio jack, 21:9 screens in their flagship. Honestly I've rarely seen a Sony ad while Samsung and Xiaomi billboards are everywhere. Sony is not even officially sold in my country.

Previous Used galaxy note until I tried xperia and I like it but hard to get. Most asia pasific no longer has new xperia

Nobody's buying a $1,000 Sony, Make a low end phone and see Transsion easily now a top 5 smartphone brand.
