We test one of the most affordable Core i9 notebook money can buy.

I think this laptop is really nice. Has that premium aluminum alloy build to it, akin to a Macbook. Other laptops like the Galaxy Book Pro is also alloy but just doesn't have that same MacBook level of premium (I've had one before and it kinda feels cheap tbh).

I would pay $100-250 more for a 2K or 4K display, with at least 500 nit brightness. If there was that option, I'd definitely consider buying this.

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2023Because it's not a gaming laptopIt doesn't have to be made for gaming, general use is waaaaaaay smoother with a faster panel. It'd be high time to move on from 60 Hz panels already, has been for years. :/ Even lower end machines shouldn't have one anymore.

I have an i3-1005g1 laptop with 12gb ram and 512gb SSD and have no rush to upgrade to the latest model. Unlike phones, laptops can be upgraded very easily.

one of the best processors at 45W right now.

Thanks for not having the numpad in keyboard. Tired of seeing all the 15 inch laptops having it.

Never been a fan of speakers on each side of the keyboard. You can easily have Numpad key if they are removed. Also, DC barrel port on a 2023 laptop? It really shouldn't exist now. DC barrel means that you have to always bring the charger with you and need to find a main plug to do the charging.

60 Hz? Not that I'd be interested in buying a laptop, but why give it such a slow panel to begin with?

I would never buy a infinix laptop again. They uses proprietary drivers.
I couldn't get touchpad and sound to work on ubuntu. When I reinstalled windows, touchpad, sound and other hardware functionalities won't work. Neither could I find the drivers anywhere nor windows could find it.
                              Laptop : infinix Y1 series.

impressive how they are now able to make flagship laptops from i3-i5 and now i9.

Nice pricing but A 16:10 display would be better and must provide HDMI 2.0b and above at that spec and price cause igpu of 13900h is well capable of providing 4k @120hz via HDMI 2.1.
