None of which may actually be used by Samsung itself, though.

Samsung thinks that 320MP is better than 1"? No wonder why they are a laughing stock among true photographers.

1 inch 50 MP sensor sounds good, the rest will probably be garbage

YUKI93, 19 Aug 2023You sure about that? I got the chance to play with the Xper... moreSony's photos are more realistic, while Samsung's photos are more vibrant, more saturated. The "problem" is that people likes saturated, not so realistic colors.

TheSnowWinterR7, 19 Aug 2023If Sony has "tErrIbLe pRocEssInG", then why this ... moreCheck those photos at full resolution. I agree that Sony's colours are better there, but sharpness is totally off. Nokia 808 Pure View, Lumia 950 and any Pixel would out perform both.

I post this again. I wonder why they want to make phones with like 300 or 440 Megapixels, while you will most probably take 18.75 MP binned shots(with a 300 MP sensor), or a 27.5 MP(with a 440 MP sensor) anyway? Why not to make a 40 or 50 MP full size sensor so people could take 40 or 50 MP shots instead of this 440 MP nonsense? By the way taking a full size shot at 440 MP would take hundreds of MB's, and if the sensor is not big enough the quality would be really bad.

"Samsung's 50MP sensor is rumored to be too expensive for Samsung's own products so it will likely be adopted by other manufacturers instead"

                        Hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahaha

They make literally the most expensive phones, even more expensive than iPhone (in the US), yet they can't afford their own product while others can? Hahahaha

No, it's not that they can't afford it, it's that they know they can keep selling the same crap for more money because of brand name.

To be clear, I'm not against hi res, just hope they do more than that to improve photography.
I shoot now at low res and tho high res may not be perfect, amount of detail in a shot is more useful for editing.
What I also miss is hi iso option, makes a differene at night.
Could also add a different ir wavelengths, uv sensing, nd filter, comparable resolution on all fov,...

"Samsung's 50MP sensor is rumored to be too expensive for Samsung's own products..."

I don't get that. Less resolution means less processing algorithm to play with. By logic, it should be cheapest among all.
