I like this design, it's far better than the old design. I like it second only to Sony Xperia design

My point wasn'... moreHow many years of warranty Samsung phones have in EU? 2 years right?
So, was that sentence "The store I ordered from promised 1 year, but it is what it is." was meant for Samsung?
If the answer is yes and you got only 1 year of warranty that means you bougth your Samsung from illegal suply shop probably as they have the most affordable prices due to not paying taxes and ordering from some other markets and sometimes phones can't work well with all different bands making them slightly different then in the rest of the world which can impact everything on phone. Especially things connected to modem as it's trying too hard to reach and catch the signal but it's stressing out not just the modem it self, it's stressing out the chipset which has an impact on battery and overall stabilty.
Samsung and pretty much every brand, other then Apple and maybe one more Android brand have just 1 year. All the rest have 2 years of warranty in EU and if I remember correctly, you're from Hungary.
Thanks

DeepIn2U, 19 Aug 2023You've proven your point ... I'll state mine:
... more"Go ahead and buy Meizu.."
My point wasn't that everyone should suddenly buy the Meizu 20, but at least appreciate it for having a design that you'd like if it was a Samsung.
"..NO global hardware or software support and warranty, replacement repairs for damage, and enjoy not getting language support across the UI. It MAY suit you but others lol nah."
I'm currently using a vivo X Note, ordered straight from China and it is an Asia only phone. It is constantly getting software updates, it launched with Android 12, now it's on Android 13 with the July security patch. The UI is in english, except for about 5 apps that I could just delete or disable, but I do enjoy their existence, not that I'm gonna run out of 512gb storage anyways.
As for replacement parts and repairs, well I couldn't care less. Only a bad product needs those. I've only needed to replace something in one of my phones, it was a Samsung, it was still under warranty, and replacing the wifi module in it was somehow not covered under warranty, so I don't care about warranty anymore either. The store I ordered from promised 1 year, but it is what it is.
I get it, this is my experience with vivo, not Meizu, but them both being Asia only phones, I doubt they could be that different in terms of language support.

Anonymous, 20 Aug 2023No it is not. 1080 x 2160 is FHD+ for example. 1170 x 2532 ... moreIt's higher resolution than 1080p, but isn't quite 1440p, thus it's 1080p+, it's such a simple naming, how is it so hard to understand?
Either way, any non-standard above 1080p but below 1440p resolution is completely pointless and just takes more battery life without any benefit. Either make it 1080p or go above it, and make it 1440p.

DarlingYext, 19 Aug 2023Anything over 1080p, but below 1440p is just FHD+ or 1080p+... moreNo it is not. 1080 x 2160 is FHD+ for example. 1170 x 2532 is neither FHD+ nor QHD+ nor any other standard resolution. It‘s 1170 x 2532, nothing more and nothing less.

If you'd like to know on the pictures there aren't rendered or real pictures of s24 but rather Meizu 20. So Samsung will most probably look different

The time when I really need a good phone is while in another country, on a road trip, hiking, or biking. That's when I need offline maps, CPU power and RAM for offline navigation, music, camera backups, documents, etc. There's no 'cloud' compute in remote mountains. Google Maps may have added an offline mode but only OSM has trails.
I could use a $5 phone at home.

Flat over curved all day long. Since I started using flat screen on my Sony Xperia 1 iv, it feels so much more comfortable and usable than my old Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra's curved screen.

I don't care about design, I put UAG or whatever case I found able to protect it.
What's important is the inside, whether it has better cooling and/or bigger battery. That will make bigger and important change.
In any case probably will skip this and wait for S25 / S26, given I still have S23 now. Most likely there's very little change on this anyways.

The curved front screen is the worst idea and design decision that Samsung came up, and strangely many phone manufacturers later started following Samsung to use the front curved screen. After many customers complaining about the front curve screen, some of phones started going back to flat front screen.
