20 August 2023
Probably the best foldable you can't buy.

Anonymous, 20 Aug 2023You know, just bcos you put username as Sigma doesnt mean y... moreWhat are you talking about? I think you are mistaken, thinking about "Alpha" and not Sigma. My real name happens to start with an "S" , sigma stands for the Greek name of the "S" letter.
Try again, better luck next time

I never said no made in China components, but no Chinese branded stuff. Sorry if your sensitivity is hurt about that, but you and the others who answered my previous comments can keep living happily with your xiaomi, Huawei, oppo etc etc crap, no one is denying you. I am talking only for myself

UNKNOWN soldier , 23 Aug 2023Samsung would be the last FOLDABLE i would buy on earth...y... moreLol.

Go ahead put your money where your mouth is!

No international hardware support at ALL!
Pi’s-poor software implemented from the UI, to features to user experience outside of the spoken and written languages within China.
Hardware flex is very nice but NO pen support which is the pinnacle in modern age of having a foldable. This alone just killed off half of its usability to the end user.

Too large to really carry in your front suit or jeans pocket, let alone your double breasted suit pocket. The weight may be ok but it’s the SOZE in volume that’s the pain point when you start actually using it as a daily driver. Anyone having a foldable communicator device as this segment plus a regular smartphone is just ludicrous in thought process.

Sorry but the Fold 5 still wins and comes out on top in terms of pen support and actual real world use.

Also Samsung Dex kills this before it’s even mass produce.

Enjoy or shall I say “how does it taste!?”

No, a foldable must have pen support, or it will be just another foldable. Even though I like this having a periscope lens. Anyways, Samsung is still way ahead in terms of software, so I`m just gonna wait for the next year model

Caeruleum7125, 20 Aug 2023Is MIUI really THAT bad? I hated LG's software skin ba... moreYou can easily import them, and yes, MIUI is GARBAGE. Easily the worst UI I've ever used on an android phone. Let's go through some of the "features" that fanboys still defend to this day...
-Reading mode destroys the colors, it does not just warm the screen like most phones do.
-Using a custom theme means you no longer will get ANY lockscreen notifications, 0, zilch. There is no way around this.
-Having notifications in your bar will be WIPED as soon as you unlock and relock your phone, doesn't matter if you just unlocked it to check the time or pay for something. Any saved notifications in your status bar are now gone. Fanboys actually defend this like its a good feature LOL.
-Fanboys like to brag about the "super wallpapers" which are just a handful of slightly animated images, but fail to mention that Xiaomi has promised "more coming soon" for the last three years.
-Custom lockscreen applications no longer work as of the newest update. There used to be a convoluted way to bypass their garbage UI by tricking the system, but it no longer works. So if you like Wallpaper Engine or any other LWP apk application forget about it.
-The static images and LWPs offered in their theme store are all cringey or just bad. A lot of the themes are cringe as well. What is cringe? Think Jokar and Rizxtar LOL.
-The UI will constantly bug you that you have had headphones in your ears too long
-Opening things like pdfs, the UI will try to default to the Xiaomi app which for some reason REQUIRES internet connection to read a pdf you have saved. Yes this is extremely shady as is most of their apps they have baked into their UI.
-The phone will randomly revoke permissions from apps, this becomes annoying when things like Android Auto stop working because the phone wants you to grant permissions again(and also makes you wait five seconds before being able to hit the 'okay' button).
-The battery saver will randomly block apps from being able to connect, you'll only get them once you open the app, with your friends wondering why you aren't replying to them. Even locking the app to the home screen doesn't resolve the issue. This was easily the most annoying thing and led me to get the Samsung S21 which I love. It's less battery life but I know everything works as it should and I have nearly unlimited customization options.

I would prefer Honor Magic V2 since it has stylus support but Mix Fold 3 is second choice.

Well, almost every phone have at least some parts made in China nowadays, including iPhone.
So you must don't buy them too.

There are reasons why Xiaomi keeps the fold china exclusive and those are the reasons one wouldnt buy a xiaomi phone over here. 1.They cant produce as many products the would need to serve europe - most people just wont get the phone even when wanting it 2.If their phones break they would have to offer replacement-programs that serve all customer-rights which are way higher over here in europe (not sure about US) than in china. We all know foldables are prone to break easy. If you dont have an answer to those customer warranty claims you dont want to sell your product over here.

Lastly. You can easily import it at where I live, but you will have to pay quite as much as you will have to pay for a fold 5 or pixel fold. The massive 19% import taxes raise the 1.727,00 € (daily price for the medium version) up to a whooping 2050 €.

No one wants to import such an expensive phone and be given a kid's OS theme. Nor be incompatible with local banks.

Caeruleum7125, 20 Aug 2023Is MIUI really THAT bad? I hated LG's software skin ba... moreNope, in fact it is my preferred android UI. It is silky smooth, stable and offers loads of customization.

I agree with you on LG's UI when they still made phones, and same with Samsung. The worst UIs on mainstream android devices.

Motorola and Sony offer very stock-ish android, so safe choices. Sadly both of them tend to underperform in the camera department compared to the HW they have inside.

Moto's leg up is their Moto features, like shake to enable flashlight and twist for camera.
Sony can lean into their PS suite, but seems to not go for it as much as they could.

On my Mi 11 I double tap the power button for flashlight and volume down for camera, so not the biggest deal in the world to miss from having Moto, but still :-)

If it's not a Samsung Galaxy(flagship) or an Apple iPhone, it barely has any chance to be bought in Europe. Form factor is less important tbh. People pay with their phones for almost everything nowadays. Other brands than the 2 above aren't seen as reliable enough to trust them with our credit card info.
Just stating the truth. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
