Even a lot (not all) of the "trusted" tech youtubers use iPhones as their daily drivers, and an Android as their secondary phone to test for a review video. I do the same thing. iPhone is my daily driver, then as a secondary phone I have a different android phone every couple months to "try" out.

    Chinese products are preferred for being cheaper. that's all. their flagships will not be competitive until they become 20% cheaper than apple and samsung.

        Disposable Expensive Foldable phones are a gimmick & this isn't an exception whether it's xiaomi, samsung, huaeei, etc.

            It being a Chinese phone is irrelevant since I dislike all foldable phones.

              The camera alone is already miles better than Samsung's foldable. Samsung (and also Apple) should realize that the competition is heating up healthily.

                This poll is gonna be similar to Sony phones, everyone will say they will buy Sony Flagship phones but in reality they buy iPhones, Samsung or other Chinese phones.

                In reality most people will not buy this phone.

I used to have mi 10 ultra the the china version i had lots of trouble esp in notifications ao i went for the s23u. I still have mi 12t with me and the samsung as primary.
                    Therefore i can say that NOT ALL who can afford a $1000 phone will shy away with xiaomi or other chinese phones. Its just that some prefer a global version so they can use it properly.

                      Nope, I wouldn't...just like I will never again buy a phone that cost more than 1000€.
                      Not an Apple,not a Samsung and certainly not something with MIUI.

                        I had the Mi 11 Ultra and the S21 Ultra my self 2 years ago... Living in Denmark Europe.

                        After i bought the S22 Ultra Korean SD version. But i still miss the Mi 11 ultra it was so much faster in most stuff and a really good camera to.

                        But like the world is with China etc i dont want Chinese phones nowadays.

                              Is MIUI really THAT bad? I hated LG's software skin back when they were still making phones and because of that I've stuck to Motorola ever since. I can't test MIUI because I'm a dumb American and they don't sell Xiaomi phones here.

Samsung is quite undeniably a top brand in the Android scene, and they also have absolutely crap cheap phones. Probably the only brand that doesnt is Apple and even they have considerably cheaper versions, although not the kind that are like a 100€.

                                I wouldnt buy a cheap Xiaomi, but I could buy their flagship model if it's quality reflects the price. Just like I dont mind using the Fold 5 even if their cheap offerings are literal torture to use.

                                  I actually got it with this kind of a lease system. Ive never had a foldable before so I figured Ill lease the Fold 5 for some 80€/month for like 1-2 months and figure out if this adds anything for me before I commit into buying this or the V2 or anything else.

When I was younger and more into the topic I had flagship phones for several years, although not necessarily typical choices. Nokia N8, Lumia 920, 930.. Then flagships started to get too big and expensive for my taste so I had a Sony Xperia Z3 Comapact. Then a OnePlus 5T. Then I switched a clean indoor job for electrician stuff and got a cheap Motorola Moto G 5G so it wont break the band if I break the phone. Switched to OnePlus Nord 2T after returning to indoor work. Now I work a lot on the phone so I figured I'll try if a foldable increases productivity.

                                    To me phone has never been a status thing. In general people who try to flex with whatever stuff are weird. For me it's just a tool but in general im a tech guy, I just dont give a fuck what anyone else thinks about the stuff I use.

                                    I've never had a Xiaomi before but what I've fondled them in the stores, they arnt really any different. Much more than brand I make my decision based on how clean the Android is. And I gotta say its one of the things I hate about this Fold 5. It's the least clean Android I've ever used.
