A huge improvement in the GPU department also awaits.

8K/60fps video capability, yet still without microSD card slot. And before anyone say anything about external hard drive or cloud storage, they are still not an ideal solution. Best of luck carrying the external hard drive around without being accidentally slipped away and use cloud storage on rural places with no internet coverage.

    seems power hungry

Wouldn't matter if it had 200 cores, 500 gb ram and 1tb gpu ram. It would still lag randomly and waste the battery when on standby.!

Amd didn't make anything better! Just editing photos in snapseed, makes exynos overheat.

that's just insane, I'm still on a 340K AnTuTu phone which already feels really fast.

Hope to see Samsung's 3nm GAA node with this SoC.

Don't know why don't they use 2+3+3 cluster configuration.
            2 X4 + 3 A720 + 3 A520

Its probably great soc, but i have complete trust in TSMC manufacturing process. Samsung need to improve throttling and battery consumption.

Hopefully Google will leave these disposable socs for pixel 9 or 10, it must have been now, 2 generations with problems mainly because of that garbage soc from Samsung and they will still continue with it in the third generation!! it's time to listen to the google community

IpsDisplay, 21 Aug 2023Big promises from exynos AGAIN But will it actually deli... moreIs not about raw power, they can compete there. Their main disadvantage is efficiency. Their fabrication process is inferior to their main competitor (TSMC}. So all the high end chipsets that come from their foundries have considerably more heat output and higher power consumption than the chips made by TSMC.

The best example is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 vs the 8+ Gen 1. It has the same specs, same architecture, but the latter one delivers around 8-10% more performance while being around 30-40% more efficient. Just because the fab process was moved to TSMC.

In my opinion Samsung should focus mostly into improving their foundries to be more competitive. Then they can go back to their Exynos development.

2x X4 and 4x A720 are enough. forget A520 for flagship, fine tune A720 so that it could race to sleep and tighten the dynamic voltage scaling. don't push the clocks too high and start gives more and bigger cache size.

A power horse in a closed environment ... expect more heat !

                        Big promises from exynos AGAIN

                        But will it actually deliver

Mediatek finally has a respectable flagship soc

Can someone explain to me how Samsung with all its years of experience struggles so much???

I can't wait for the stress test, it doesn't sound as a downgrade as the past one's

Well done sammy. I am sure it is on pair with 8+g1.
