Samsung is a failure with industrial Design. It succeds coz of specs and manufacturing capabilities.

Nokia and Apple are great at designs.. Nokia lags with the OS but then i feel Windows tie-up was a safe move, coz for Android Partners only samsung makes good profit. Yes Nokia + android would have made a great combo, but no one knows the long term scenario.

Samsung has it's Touch Wiz Launcher fully mature and Tizen OS is in works. Seems it is going to focus on its own app store and earn revenues & fork the android. Also, Google will surely look to reboot Motorola with the upcoming X-Series.

Hence if Nokia would have started so late with android, it would have been a lonely horse....Windows partnership assures that MS would try to accomplish it's failed dreams of Mobile Market Share...

This is what Nokia should announce the coming months, as in my opinion:
                                  - A tablet with the well know Nokia design.
                                  - A Nokia 808 PV follower, I hope WP8 is able to run that kind of hardware.
                                  - A Nokia Lumia 920 follower, but, that can wait till later if there will be a 1080p resolution support on WP8.
                                  - Nokia Catwalk, aluminium body, sleek and the Nokia Lumia 920 camera.

From what I understand, if there is no excluvity, all the marketing must be paid by Nokia/Microsoft. By signing the exclusivity, the operator spends some money to promote the phone, so no impact on Nokia financial..... But I am sure that in the long run, as soon as Lumia phone becomes an ubitiquous choice as Galaxy/iPhone, they won't have to do it anymore. Now the consumer market is not aware about the advantages of Lumia phones with respect to the competition. Me I am not convinced about that strategy since everytime I go to my operator stores (Rogers in Canada), they propose Android/iPhone...... since sales person does not know why Nokia is superior (Imaging, off-line maps, build quality....)

But maybe I am wrong on this one.

1st mistake is to make it a carrier exclusive. You want to get the phone in as many hands as possible. And making it carrier exclusive does the opposite. People are going to jump from their carrier for a WP. Don't get me wrong Nokia makes great hardware but WP doesn't the weight Android or IOS does
