that looks nice, now if they can also get it thinner to where it feels like a standard phone when closed similar to the Chinese foldables

I'm not getting one, mainly because it is their FIRST folding phone, but I like the form factor of the Pixel fold. It's WIDER and not so tall and NARROW.

You're talking about the mini phones that don't sell well but mainstream right now is capped at 6.7-6.8". People keep complaining that phones do not fit in their pockets and this is we didn't really have any improvement in that field since the Note 10+ 4 years ago. (Note20 Ultra is an exception) Notice how every Ultra now sells more than the big Notes so Samsung prefers the $$
Every time people look at my 23 Ultra they immediately say "Oh but it's so big, no?"
It's not a niche device now, it's mainstream sadly

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra was the last great Samsung. Every Ultra since 20 was smaller than 6.9"

If they make it 75+mm wide, fold5 is my last Samsung foldable. Hopefully not.

Hot take: bezels are getting too thin. So Samsung's "thick" bezels are fine. 👍

Looks like it could finally be a useful aspect ratio on the cover display. Just a shame for the 5 fans of the current aspect ratio.
Still built like a fucking brick though, guess Samsung has no interest competing in that category in the future either
