Kirin 9000s 5G has 12 core like wtf! Can't wait to be able to buy this if given the chance as I have always loved Huawei phones with Kirin Socs!

From some of the leaks, it appears that the chipset is Kirin9000

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2023Nice BUT that bunch hole trio is even more ridiculous than ... moreUDC is still not mature enough for everyday use. That's the reason I love Sony's current phone design, as they still put bezels on the top for a completely uninterrupted full-screen experience.

Nice BUT that bunch hole trio is even more ridiculous than dynamic island.
The UDC technology is awailable so why the heck won't manufacturers perfect or use it more....i mean the the front camera can't be that importat to majority that it would need to be pixel clear.
What next? fourth of the display is missing in fawor of front camera and sensors.

Mate 50 main camera, P60 Pro telephoto camera, a flat panel, and a new 5G-supported Kirin SoC? Count me in! Great to see Kirin making a comeback.

Zero, 29 Aug 2023There is a BIG catch: NO GPU score. And if we consider that... moreIf we consider the Kirin 9000s GPU to be at least on par with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 GPU, which scores around 400k-420k, the total score could exceed 1 million. It's important to note that these scores are achieved using significantly lower clock speeds compared to its competitors, which is beneficial for battery life. Additionally, even slight increases in clock speeds could certainly outperform the Snapdragon Gen 2

mat, 29 Aug 2023antutu score around 600k means which is a midrange performa... moreYou don't need the fastest chip to charge more money. There's a lot of tech behind that phone that make to act on par with the latest from competition.
I, for example, can use an 3 year old phone, with 300k on antutu, without having problems on everyday usage.
Digital cameras can take great pictures even if their chips are much less powerful than these used on phones etc.
Let's not forget that these prices that we see today are driven by the increase of price in chips. We don't need 3,4,5nm which are ovens. Not for majority, meaning 99.99%.

It's like someone stuck a fork during the design and came up with this triple punch holes cameras, tbh they have decent front facing cameras but the design is just something.. ehh it's subjective, but to me it's just too much going on the front display, it doesn't bother you much when you get used to it but still much prefer the minimal intrusion, nobody uses face unlock for android anyways so why even bother using the same tech as iPhone face unlock when there's literally an in display fingerprint, I guess that's how Huawei wanna play it..

China government is not like the 70's/80's as it has evolved & pretty applied some Western Policies that would benefit them unlike the Western Democrazy runned by Corporate Elites/Oligarchs & has remained stagnant or even devolve to craziness. Politicians funded & are corporate lapdogs that only benefits said greedy folks.

Also whats wrong having another entity that will compete against this big 2 Google Android & Apple iOS in the mobile ecosystem? Competition is good, it will keep software development evolve if they keep being innovative & prices in check.

To be honest, the punch holes look decent. I never thought I would say that. But I hate both center punch hole and pills or islands. It was great when punch holes remained in the corner.

Zero, 29 Aug 2023Funny story seems that there will be Kirin 9100, Kirin 830 ... moreThere are numerous claims (mostly from Chinese news outlets) that report Arm Holdings has stated at an earnings call that Armv9 is not subject to US export restrictions and therefore available to Huawei.

I think that option remains open but Huawei is investing in RISC-V too.
