And yes, there people who would love the 2Tb+microsd card option. Why cripple your 4k capable phone with pathetic internal only storage?

A phone will die if you drop it in a puddle. SD cards can at least be recovered and copied to another device.
Your online storage is gone the instant you stop paying monthly bills... but obviously people with money to burn don't even care that phone companies are charging $1000 for 128GB.

going backwards, i see... the current one starts with a 256 and now they're going back to half that? also, didn't they say that ufs 4.0 only starts with 256gb and up, so this mean that they're using a 2 generations old storage (assuming there's a newer one coming out)... and this is for their "premium" phone. -_-

128gb is already very short, it should start from 256 which is still enough depending on what you save on the phone! but 128 and above are sure to charge 1000 dollars because it is not a good deal

So this means Apple will sell their $1200 iPhone 15 Pro Max with 128GB base storage.
As for Samsung, the good thing is they always do this double storage promo at launch, so practically, it's 256GB base, at least during launch.

I am pretty sure I will never ever get no Samsung model without a microSD slot. This is a real insult they did to their consumers.
Like, they keep dual SIM but removed microSD, it can't be an internal space issue. Obviously, the 512 to 2 tb model will have an indecent price.
And even, imagine breaking your phone with 2tb of data or even transfering 2tb of data to a new phone.
Anyway, no microSD = no buy.

there is no need for 128gb entry level storage on a flagship nowadays, 256gb should be minimal now.
Built in storage is cheap as chips and the difference between 128gb and 256gb storage options are literally $10-15 per unit given how any they buy, yet companies like apple and Samsung will gladly sell you a larger one for $100 more is basically racketeering, then have the cheek to up the price of the handset as well for the privilege while doing minimal upgrades and improvements.

General gaming had been the worst offender, remember how devs had to optimize games back then when consoles weren't plentiful on resources. Now with the sheer power and available storage around plus internet updates they release all kinds of bloated, buggy messes.
With more powerful and widespread hardware, the need for software optimization came down a lot.

I'm going to be controversial here:
I don't like the fact that phones are getting more RAM than an entry level gaming laptop. It just encourages app developers to cram in features without bothering to optimize them. Memory leaks? Not a problem because yu have 24GB of RAM and surely they can handle it.
Ugh.
