Smarter choice for the S24 series I guess.

The average customers doesn't care that the equivalent Snapdragon has 8% higher graphics performance in specialized benchmarks.

What matters is that with Exynos they get longer support, and fewer critical security issues.

P C M, 29 Aug 2023The exynos 5433 was way better and most other ones were eit... moreI didn't "lie" lol 😂
    I just stated the facts.

As for Exynos 5433, it was an underrated chip, but the 7420 was the true star of the show, coz that chip blew the Android competition out of the water, and it came close to the Apple A9 Bionic chip of that same year.

After the 7420, they managed to make SoCs that were having equivalent performance to their Snapdragon counterparts (S7, S8, S9 and S10 series), until...

The Exynos 990, and this has to be one of their worst SoCs. It heated up so bad, that my S20's glass back came off. The glue melted, and the back came off like a removable panel of the olden days...

After that, they were lagging behind with the Exynos 2100 and 2200. Can't comment much on those chips since I didn't use a phone powered by them all that much.

Had S22 with Exynos, overall was not bad till starting Dex or without WiFi (on LTE). Dex or LTE were unusable - heat, throttling, ultra short battery life.
Now with S23 everything is like should be. No heat or throttling with Dex and LTE/5G is normal. Will never ever buy Exynos version in pre-order, only when real tests show better efficiency than Snapdragon. I don't understand how they can sell such a bad product with Exynos if there is alternative. But till there will be buyers they will put in in EU

Rly, 29 Aug 2023So this time i will change my S22 Ultra SD version for Xiao... moreOh how the mighty fall! Recall the Note 4 where the snapdragon version was the sh1tty one. Qualcomm upped their game in the GPU department. In the course department they are 1-2 generations behind Apple (as per always) but thankfully the cpu matters less and less. Most bottlenecks are from GPUS these days (in games and complex 3d apps), you rarely see a couple bottleneck anymore...

Once again Europeans will be discriminated against in other countries and will be Samsung's experimentation guinea pigs and worse, they will pay for it! Europeans: DON'T BUY THE S24!!!

P C M, 29 Aug 2023Make it on 3nm.🔥.. Fingers crossed🤞 sadly it will be made on their 4nm garbo node with high energy consumption and heat

They should just use Exynos everywhere if they are so desperate.
Using Qualcomm in USA and focusing 80% on USA and the Exynos sufferes specially on the camera department, not that it had worse ISP but for optimization. Exynos had always very good ISP, even better than SD,, except for last few years since Exynos 990. From then they are really going for cheap amd cost cutting. It weren't the case in the past. I am sure Exynos 990 and 2100 costed at least 20-30% less than similar SD SoC. So, cut the crap Samsung.

Huawei has already proven that even with inferior performance SoC you can deliver very good performance userwise because of single focused optimization.

The greatest smartphone SOC to ever exist. This will absolutely demolish Tensor, Qualcomm, and Apple for this year and next, especially in the GPU department. MediaTek will be the only true viable competitor.

Did they forget to re-add headphone jack again?

There was not a single time I was disappointed with a Galaxy upgrade so I'm not worried. New is always better, can't wait to upgrade my 23 Ultra

G3MR2906, 29 Aug 2023The only time Exynos was better than the competition was in... moreThe exynos 5433 was way better and most other ones were either similar or better than SD that time. You don't have to lie to show Qualcomm better.
They already are for quite some time.

WOOW! QHD for S24+! That would be great!
Somehow, its little brother should have over 480 ppi too, maybe having some alien resolution like some BBK phones. Full HD for premium, quite expensive devices, won't cut it.
Fot those who complain about higher energy consumption, a toggle for lower resolution would be the solution.
C'mon guys, Full HD works well for 150 $ phones! You can do it!

Very disappointing decision but they're reallydetermined to make their own chipsets, i feel like one of the main reasons why the S23 ULTRA had a huge success it's because people didn't have to worry about getting the phone with the chipset that is less powerful or less battery efficient and now we're back to sqaure 1 because no matter how good this chipset is, people are still gonna find a way to spot differences between it and the 8 Gen 3...we'll see how it goes.

Deca-core....H'm,ah well, let's see how it fairs in power efficiency then. If left to me alone I would prefer an octa-core ,and the snapdragon 778 clock frequency structure,my mindset abut the number of cores I'm sure was like those who were coming from quad-core to octa-core right?...lol

Anton., 29 Aug 2023they have all been bad, i remember when i buyed the galaxy ... moreOnly problem that i had with the i9300 was the 1gb of ram, other than that the soc ran like a dream with the software back then. Easy 6h SoT sometimes even 7h. FPSE ran like a dream. OFC i did overclock to 1.6ghz with 1.3V and the GPU i think was at 640mhz. Other than gaming it never got hot. Was my 1st and probably best for it's time android experiance.
