I predict that other famous phone brand made a rollable screen. For example:
Samsung -> Samsung z roll
Xiaomi -> Xiaomi mi mix roll
Vivo -> vivo X roll
OnePlus -> OnePlus roll

Ra-Iri, 31 Aug 2023Again, LG did this first. Working. Even sold to limited people.LG acquired this tech, did not create.
It was bought from sony in 2012.

This is so stupid and some fancy gimmick rollable that will break easily all for 7..1 screen size I cant understand why no one else makes a 7.1 or 7.2 like the Huawei Mate 20X 7.2" 5 years ago, it beats any Fold or Rollable hands down with no fragility problems and its perfect size ffor those want a bg screen without worrying the poor innd=ner screen getting damage with just fingernails lol, all they had to do was put in decent size 6500Mah and it is perfect!!!
I dunno why Samsung cant release anything bigger than 6.8" gone were those days when the Samsung first Note series was considered gigantic and Steve Jobs was wrong...... 3.5"is way too small! anyoneelse that says is a tiny minority that got little hands and like to squint their eyes to watch anything or do anything else besides fone calls!

Dang, just a couple of years ago I saw Tecno phones getting roasted because of their garbage OS and low end specs.
Now they have expanded and released decent devices to the point of creating rollable phones rivaling Samsung?
I truly wish Tecno the best and hope they become as big as Xiaomi. The more manufacturers fighting for first place, the better for us customers.

I have a feeling that LG were working on something similar before their mobile division was shutdown, maybe techno hired some of their r&d staff?

A copy of lg's foldable which was not launched officially, thou had some imperfections. The concept was a nice one. LG always make a good and outstanding innovation...

"The device has protective glass for the sliding area and textured back for better grip."
Great concept and a true feat of ingenuity, however externally you would want more protection i.e a case,
Internally everything has to stay connected, on moving chassis? Therefore additional weight could be a problem as does IP moisture dust.
Look early days where one invents followers innovate,
Looking forward to solutions which will come and in advance.
Why didn't I think of that?
