Poco wins this hands down . The Samsung just has the better IP rating and software support but in all other aspects the Poco wins . The Samsung is also really ugly with those front bezels

Joe, 03 Sep 2023Although Poco phones are widely known for its motherboard i... moreWidely known is only that there are loads of trolls who complain about motherboard issues that we know only have been with mostly in India only and with X3 Pro model.

We dont see you go around all the Samsung models past decade or so complaining about exploding batteries on every model they release.

So why is Poco different ? 1 model out of all of them while F series have not had these issues your talking about. X series is the cheaper version of Poco or middle class as the F is there flagship

The software should've been included in this comparison.
Would've loved to see a deep dive into MIUI and OneUI

Plus there's also the argument of how good the A54 will age if it's chipset isn't really "powerful". You can only optimise around a weak chipset so much before it starts showing it's cracks. And this device is just a midrange from the dozens of phones Samsung releases in a year so can you be sure they would pay this device rhe attention it requires 2 years or so down the line?

The Poco F5 is going to be my pick for the device that would last longer, which is always the goal for any consumer in the mid range segment. Sure it doesn't have the longer software support, but it offers a far more powerful chipset that would age better. And if the camera experience is similar, then the A54 really has no tangible advantage.

"Samsung clearly paid a lot more attention to the build quality.."

Well, I disagree with that. The A54 has a huge dust collecting gap between it's gigantic front bezel and sides, which I have never seen before on any phone costing above 150 usd. It looks awful, it feels awful and it's only going to get worse. Even the A34 has a much better build, with no strange gap on the front.

Yeah, the back is "only" plastic on the Poco, but at this price, that's the better choice, as it's more durable and will be covered with a case anyways.

Sooo buy a case for the F5 and then it wins in every aspect? Cool.

Midrange phones don't need to last that long, so software updates aren't that important, and camera quality really doesn't matter to most people

            Poco F5 by a mile
            -Better main cam
-Much better performance, smooth UI experience
            -Better speakers
            -Way less bezels

Other than the IP rating and better ultrawide the A54 has nothing major going for it
Software support isn't an advantage when your phone lags out the box

The Poco F5 has almost twice the raw power of the A54, so it will stay faster for significantly longer, thus it will last longer, making Samsung's longer software support pointless.

A54 is just better at least for me you get:
                Better camare
                Similar battery
                Long term software support
                Better design
                Ip67
Samsung UI Better then poco miui
                I don't need a powerful chip since I'm not a gamer
So overall a54 got this win pretty much easily at least for me

Although Poco phones are widely known for its motherboard issues, especially on the X series, the F5 is still far better than the A54. Samsung made an ugly phone with huge bezels and thickness. When comparing the two, Poco's screen looks far better and modern than the trashy Samsung. The only advantage of the A54 is the long software support but good luck with that chipset on the long run.

The only two advantages of A54 are IP rating and software support. Poco F5 is much better in other aspects.
