GSMarena here's the definition for "vegan" and for "leather", since you obviously don't know

Vegan, adjective
eating, using, or containing no food or other products derived from animals.

Leather, noun
a material made from the skin of an animal by tanning or a similar process.

As you can see, there can be no such thing that is "vegan leather". They're completely contradictory terms

DarlingYext, 01 Sep 2023"Even the link you provided shows the 8020 and 1100 ar... more"Sure it's the same architecture, but they perform very differently"

That's one review. Not exactly a comprehensive sample size. They're the same chip. Same CPU, same GPU. Nano reviews findings could be from sample/pre release units so that would explain the differences.

"Infinix gives 1 OS update only, so no it doesnt matter."

That's an objectively bad thing. So not quite the comeback you possibly thought it was.

""It's becoming increasingly hard to find phones with headphone jack and microSD."

Yeah, because most people don't need or use either of those features anymore"

People "don't use them"? People can't use them if they're not available. It's a ridiculous argument to say people aren't using "X" when "X" is no longer available. Having a headphone jack, microSD, FM radio, IR blaster etc can't possibly make a phone trash. Because it doesn't hurt to have them.

If you don't need some or all of them, then you don't use them. Whereas if you need some or all of them but they're not available then it's trash.

Like it's better to have a smoke alarm in your house and not need to, than to need one and not have it. Having it there doesn't hurt. Even if you'll probably never actually need it.

Like I said. The 2 year old A52s is better than this. Smartphone market has seen no meaningful improvement in years

Did you even go through the page that I linked? Sure it's the same architecture, but they perform very differently. The Dimensity 1100 shows significantly better scores in AnTuTu 9, yet the Dimensity 8020 show slightly better scores in GeekBench 5, not that either of these will matter in real life usage. However, what's more important, is that the Dimensity 8020 is more stable. Real life usage is what matters, not all these numbers.

"It matters for longevity of support.."

Infinix gives 1 OS update only, so no it doesnt matter.

"It's becoming increasingly hard to find phones with headphone jack and microSD."

Yeah, because most people don't need or use either of those features anymore.

Does that mean neither of them should ever be offered again and I'm happy these features seem to be going extinct? No, and no. They should still exist for those who need them and in fact they do exist, not on many phones but you do have option.

Now, just because you need these features, that doesn't mean phones not having them are "trash", the same way it doesn't mean that a phone is "trash", when it does actually have those features. People have different needs, it's that simple. This phone isn't bad, it's just not for you.

DarlingYext, 01 Sep 2023Why does it matter how old a chipset is, if it's plent... moreThe 8020 is literally just a renamed 1100, which is almost 3 years old. It matters for longevity of support and also it's misleading to pretend it's new. Even the link you provided shows the 8020 and 1100 are using the exact same architecture. I'm starting to think you know absolutely nothing about tech.

My comment was deleted because GSMarena mods don't like their echo chamber being disrupted. And if they delete critical comments, it's not surprising you're seeing only positive ones.

It's becoming increasingly hard to find phones with headphone jack and microSD. But that doesn't mean this phone is good, it means lots of phones are trash. This is why sales have been falling across the market for the last 3 years.

An old A52s offers better all-round specs and it's still getting software updates

Anders, 01 Sep 2023What's insane is you think $350 for a phone with a chi... moreWhy does it matter how old a chipset is, if it's plenty powerful for the asking price? It's also not actually old, it's brand new.

          https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/qualcomm-snapdragon-855-plus-vs-mediatek-dimensity-8020

It's basically a chipset between the Snapdragon 855+ and the 865 in terms of power, but it supports faster storage than the 855+ and is a lot more efficient than said Qualcomm chipset. Important to note that manufacturers don't have to use the best storage supported, but Infinix did with the Zero 30.

Oh, and, as much as I can remember, you mentioned a chipset that this is supposed to be a rebrand of, and I'm sorry, I forgot while I was researching for my comment. Anyways, I think what you mentioned was the Dimensity 1100.

          https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/mediatek-dimensity-8020-vs-mediatek-dimensity-1100

These 2 chipsets have nothing to do with each other, the Dimensity 8020 is an entirely new chipset from Mediatek. And it's a powerful one at that, with 4k 60fps support on both sides, which this phone has, while pretty much none other does at this price, in fact some 700-1300 usd (or equivalent of it) phones can't do 4k 60fps on the front, or any 4k for that matter, or even 1080p 60fps. The chipset also has native 144hz support, which this phone also has.

I'm sorry, but it also says a lot about you, and only you, that your comment got very swiftly deleted and so far you are the only one downvoting the entire comment section, without even mentioning anything at this price that would be better than this phone in every possible spec, while also having a headphone jack and an SD Card slot.

They have been promising at least 1 OS update for their most expensive phones, which is better than nothing. They make security updates regularly and I still get updates to my Zero X Pro and it's a phone released in September 17, just some weeks from it will complete 2 years.

My Zero X Pro still stuck on Android 11 but I have no complains. It's a reliable phone and its system is stable.

You will get much more in many aspects, like on cameras (108MP but this time with OIS + 13MP ultrawide + 50MP selfie camera, all can do 4k videos at 30fps or 60fps which Note 30 Pro can't do), a curved screen with 144hz refresh rate, an absurd amount of processing power and 5G connectivity (if available in your country).

DarlingYext, 01 Sep 2023Insane value! What's insane is you think $350 for a phone with a chip that is literally just the nearly 3 year old Dimensity 1100, no microSD support and no headphone jack is good value.

The incessant brown-nosing of billionaires who could so easily make better phones, by adding simple things like headphone jack and microSD that cost them literally pennies by people on this site is pathetic.

Oh, and GSMarena. Once again there is no such thing as "vegan leather" this is a complete contradiction of terms. It is an oxymoron. Veganism is the refusal to use animal produce, whereas leather is the skin of an animal. Ie, you cannot have "vegan leather". It's like saying someone is an "atheist Christian"

Actually decent stuff. Hopefully you guys will review it.
I'm wondering how's software support on these phones though. I barely know the brand.

Speaking of price, which phones you guys think that can be a direct competitor with Zero 30 5G under the same price tag?

Nice. Transsion is making some really good bang-for-the-buck phones lately.
