IDK why people are upset about Zoom level. Would you really prefer to have shitty x30 than perfect x3? I would not. I like to have a perfect one 3x-4x max than a shitty x10000 just to have it and shoot oil paintings of some far away objects.

Haha 4x telephoto? On a $1200 phone in 2023 and only 12.7mp as well, what a joke.
apple really know how to drag and milk their customers into the ground, so a titanium frame that nobody cares about, thinner bezels which isn’t exactly a feature and a massive jump in telephoto from 3x to 4x 😂, literally the only worthwhile addition is USB C, hopefully they are wrong on this information regarding the camera

It would be quite surprising, if the periscope only has a field of view of 85mm and only 12.7 megapixels. It totally contradicts Kuo's prediction. It would be good to take portrait photos, but then they could still have used a Quad Bayer sensor with 49 megapixels.
I have a Pixel 7 Pro (periscope has a field of view of 116mm) and as it leverages the 48 megapixel sensor (in contrast to the 6 Pro, which ignores the high resolution mode), 240mm or 360mm gives you significantly more detail from distant objects than 116mm. Especially when you combine 240mm or 360mm with the short Night Sight mode. (But at night, the 7 Pro ignores the high resolution mode due to read noise and only uses the 12 megapixel mode of the sensor.) But also note that I have tested multiple Pixel 7 Pro and each one behaves differently. That was the point when I realized that it doesn't make sense to write a smartphone camera review when every unit performs differently.
