Leaked Galaxy S24 Ultra specs include a titanium frame, upgraded cameras and a Snapdragon chip

This isn't entirely new, but there have been some conflicting reports - e.g. the 65W charging upgrade may not be happening.

I tried the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ulta and it was an expensive piece of hot garbage. Xiaomi is much better than this overpriced Samsung garbage.

Yeah, I know, but that's not an option for me, as I'm a heavy user. I charge my phone up to 100%, and then I usually still end my days with 5-15% battery life, so I need the full battery for most of my days.

"Leaving your phone plugged in for an entire night can lead to a decrease in battery capacity.."

"Keeping the battery constantly at 100% while connected to the charger can also accelerate battery wear.."

See, these two points you made are the biggest reasons to why I prefer ultra fast charging.

DarlingYext, 10 Sep 2023"If Samsung and Apple simply wanted money at any cost ... moreLeaving your phone plugged in for an entire night can lead to a decrease in battery capacity, unless your phone's software manages it efficiently. To extend battery durability, it's advisable to charge the battery within the range of 20% to 90%, as this can triple the number of battery cycles. The last 10% of the charge is the slowest and should be avoided to preserve battery life. Keeping the battery constantly at 100% while connected to the charger can also accelerate battery wear, which is why laptops tend to lose their charge-holding ability more quickly than smartphones. Some laptops, like Samsung's, offer the option to limit charging to 80% to mitigate this issue.

It's bound to have a good camera, all I want is a similarly good battery and processor (get the basics right) but also for the love of god get some good colours. I'm sick of samsungs very diluted very pale, very boring colours. You go onto their store for the S23 ultra and Z fold 5 etc. For example you look at the Z fold 5 and it has the cream, icy blue and black colours. All pretty tame but sensible, yet even the online exclusive colours are then just grey and regular blue. They're near the same as the none exclusive ones.

Very poor colour range and not much effort on making them an interesting or stylish shade either. Not knocking on it too much as I rock the samsung phones anyway but it would be so much more interesting if they tried in the colour department again (even if just making the most popular colours have a nicer tint).

Again, the rounded Samsung screen is not trainable - it’s inconvenient, expensive and not practical

No, no no.. it's quite clearly better for them that they made people believe that fast charging is harmful, so people won't buy phones from other brands, and it saved them money too, because they didn't have to develop their own fast charging technology.

"1C = 20-25w. (for most smartphones), you don't need to wait if you have a life."

It's not just about waiting, I only charge my phones at night, but not DURING the night, because the latter is what I was doing, when I was still using phones with slow charging and their batteries degraded significantly within 1 year of usage, they went from easily lasting 1 day to at maximum lasting half a day, which is not case with my iQOO 5 Pro, so I trust fast charging, but I absolutely don't trust slow charging during the night.

              That's it.

This article and countless others show the relationship between battery degradation and charging speed. Anyone knows this, it's no wonder that billion-dollar companies are looking for new batteries that can withstand stress without side effects.

If Samsung and Apple simply wanted money at any cost over security, they would be better off selling devices with the fastest charging possible. This way the battery loses cycles faster and the user has to buy another expensive smartphone.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2023"longer it chargers, the longer it will stay hot"... moreYeah exactly. It's all good. It works the way I mentioned it, the longer you charge your phone, the longer it stays hot, thus that's worse for the battery.

Said phone was the iQOO 5 Pro, one of the first phones ever to be launched with 120W fast charging, and that was already great, the technology has only gotten better.

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2023"longer it chargers, the longer it will stay hot"... moreFast charging is similar to wireless and wired, you should chose future or stuck in past.
If a brand like apple or samsung cared to customers, first of all they didn't remove charger from box and second they improved their mobile fast charge as fast as possible and healthy enough to battery like 65w. (full charging a 5000 battery in 30-40min is good enough for most people)
You will save your time by using fast charge. ( imo saving your time is the best that you can do in your life)
Remember chinese brands like bbk are testing their fast charging before using them in their devices because they cares about their reputation. ( reputation care is similar to customer
                      care and is good)
You should remember sammy's note 7 with slow charge and explosion problem.

not works that way, its always more wattage = hotter
the hotter = more bad for li-ion

the things to look is how much hotter is ultra-fast-charging
                          charging 2hours with 25w at 38c vs charging 30minutes with ultra-fast at 42c+
that 42c degrade battery faster even much shorter time than at 38c long charging time

but as long as company that use ultra-fast-charge can make their battery temp as low as fast-charging, its all good

Rich.Rights.Zero, 09 Sep 2023The reason companies like Apple and Samsung are so cautious... moreNo. The real reason is because they don't have to, it saves them money, and in the end earns them more profit, especially because they make people believe that they are doing it for safety reasons, so said people who actually believe that, won't buy phones from any other company, but Apple, or Samsung (maybe Google) because they will think that every other company is unsafe.

Samsung is the least safest, their batteries in their low-end A series expand more frequently, than any other phone's battery, and faster as well, sometimes as soon as 1-2 years of usage.

Chinese companies have much more freedom to create defective or dangerous devices. The government doesn't care, they don't care.

"Apply the ultra-fast charge only when necessary. A well-designed ultra-fast charger should have the charge-time selection to give the user the option to choose the least stressful charge for the time allotted. Figure 3 compares the cycle life of a typical lithium-ion battery when charged and discharged at 1C, 2C and 3C rates. The longevity can further be prolonged by charging and discharging below 1C; 0.8C is the recommended rate.

Charging and discharging Li-ion above 1C reduces service life. Use a slower charge and discharge if possible. This rule applies to most batteries."
