        I wasn't referring to the general decline of phones, but since you did bring it up, they are not declining because of the absence of those features, that's for sure

        If the GP would uphold those features like you did, and were actually important, then companies like LG would not have shut down their mobile production, and companies like Sony and Asus would actually be relevant outside the tech community with their phones, but as you can clearly see from the data, they are not, so their strategy in keeping those legeacy features are clearly not working well

        No one said that they aren't nice things to have, but are they necessary ? Not really
        Be grateful that you have options to choose from and stop complaining, because its getting annoying at this point

            Phone sales have been in decline for 3 years. So clearly people do care about the constant removal of useful features like headphone jack, microSD and now even the charger.

            There is no downside to including a headphone jack/microSD. Even if 90% don't care about it, that means 10% do so you're losing 10% of customers. Whereas if you include a headphone jack you open yourself up to 100% of consumers.

            Sony added it back. So clearly brands do change their minds

With the superficial experience I have with them, I honestly don't think one should mount a screen protector on such "cute" phones, it will spoil the cosy and mellow feeling of holding them... I opt for the wired earbuds now, even though I'm 100% sure the technology will die out all by itself, sooner rather than later. Fortunately my current phones support them, which makes me hoard a few wired earbuds whenever they're on sales. They usually "die" automatically after 3 - 5 months, irrespective of how carefully I use them. I always suspected they were intentionally designed to die by the manufacturers.

                          With regard to soldering, I simply don't have those skills. Besides I'm too old to venture into such projects. I just throw 10 Euros at it and it's out of my way. The time I save, I spend on writing this comment 😎. But thanks anyway for the piece of advice, you seem to be skilled at these things.
