rosesarerosie, 09 Sep 2023Bro what's up with you always complaining about microS... moreI never used micoSD, don't use it now and probably never will. Mainly because I don't need it while residing in my own country, I also don't know how to encrypt it. If you lose your phone, you can kiss the microSD goodbye. But many people desperately need it, especially if you live in countries with rudimentary internet infrastructure. That's what I found out after spending my holidays in one of those beautiful countries like Thailand. Tourists who are interested in photography need somewhere to save their photos while abroad, and no, the built-in phone storage is not enough for them, especially if they're professionals or journalists.

I never thought in my wildest dream that I will ever use FM radio again until I got stuck in one of those weird places with almost no access to the internet, both inside and outside of hotels, even though I had to pay for every megabyte, there were no internet at all in most places in Egypt, not even in their 4* hotels. I'm NOT joking. You can buy access to their wifi/internet, but there's no functioning network, and they will NOT refund you because you already "used" the service, whatever that means. So if you get stuck in such boring place, cut off from the outside world, having nothing to do, the FM radio comes in EXTREMELY handy!

I don't like the 3.5mm jack either, but I badly NEED it. While wireless headphones are usually expensive and need to be constantly charged, I can buy a good pair of headphones for Euro 10 when on sales. Then throw them out after a few months due to wear and tear, I can live with that, even though it's a little unethical... Not good for the environment.

The cost part is debatable, for the most part curved displays are on flagship phones that would be expensive even with a flat display.

Asus Zenfone 10, Galaxy S23/S23+ for example, are all very expensive phones with flat displays.

DarlingYext, 09 Sep 2023"Admittedly it feels good in my hand.." Yeah, ... morethey do not like curved displays because they can introduce accidental touches when your palm touch the edges. and they cost more as well.

JimmyTheGreatest, 09 Sep 2023Is there anything positive with curved displays other than ... more"Admittedly it feels good in my hand.."

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I prefer curved displays, the other is obviusly the look but the main thing is actually the side bezels, since any amount bothers me and curved ones have none, that's the better choice for me and it's a literal deal breaker to me if a phone doesn't have a curved display. However I understand why people don't like it.

Anders, 09 Sep 2023So you'll complain about the lack of a 2mp sensor, but... moreBro what's up with you always complaining about microSD slot and headphone jack ? Let them go

is it just me or the phone looks really similar to the regular mate 50?

Is there anything positive with curved displays other than looking "attractive". I mean does it add any functionality? I never owned such phones and discouraged my acquaintances from buying them when I first saw them maybe a decade ago. I suspect the edges of the screen are susceptible to scratch, which is a nightmare, especially if you use the phone as a TV as I regularly do.

I appreciate that the manufacturers are being creative and innovative, but I honestly don't understand the purpose of curving the screen... What is the purpose of doing it with such a fragile device that is being used and moved around constantly. Admittedly it feels good in my hand, but I don't think I can relax while carrying the phone in my pocket or bag. Any thoughts?

                            For 500 euros, is ok.

Anders, 09 Sep 2023So you'll complain about the lack of a 2mp sensor, but... moreThe lack of a 2mp sensor isn't the main issue here, but the fact that there is a place for it, to look like it has 3 cameras, but actually it only has 2. That's deceitful, and I hate that.

You can't expect anything great at that segment.

The more it leaks, the uglier it gets. Disgusting that they didn't even bother to put at least another 2mp sensor in the third slot, naah it's just blank. Fakery at it's best.
