When they released Lumia 950 XL they didn't mention anything about it was going stop supporting Whatsapp and all of the other apps. They said this is very nice, buy it. etc. etc. My Note 3 was released 2 years before 950 XL and it is going to stop Whatsapp support next month. Lumia stopped support on December 10, 2019. That's nearly 4 years.

I don't care about Surface Duo not receiving updates because I didn't buy anything labeled Microsoft after Lumia 950 XL. I even bought the accessories. I don't know Microsoft any more. I wish they stop updating Windows 10. Any new update messes my PC. That's why I have Ubuntu as a second OS on the same PC...

What about Windows 11? Whose idea was it to put "more options" options in the right click menu!? Win 11 is actually terrible all over . I am still waiting but I don't see any improvements.

There is also Microsoft Edge and all its annoying sides?

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2023"..Galaxy Note 4 that now shows noticeable lag despite... moreLmao no. The Note 3 started lagging the moment Android 5 was pushed to it. I'm just glad mine wasn't part of the batch, along with Note 4, of the batch with defective eMMC. Which was never reported since most of them broke beyond warranty.

Wish they made a standard foldable with flagship cameras finally. Not what's in the market right now, but hi res 10x capable ones.
            Still no competition even lol.

Now that is a very poor support term from Microsoft (but didn't expect otherwise from them). For an expensive device as this one, not offering more support is a shame. On the other hand, I don't think there are that many devices in the wild and if there are I don't think they will be in a good nick.

                Samsung isn't a phone, it's a company.

magnaroader, 12 Sep 2023I find it hilarious that the company responsible for 70% of... moreAndroid is Google's product and Android was deliberately designed to automatically become obsolete. Just like any other smartphone operating system out there.

If anything, Microsoft's incompetence has underlined how consumer hostile contemporary smartphone operating systems are. Time for a regulated revolution. split up these trillion dollar corporations with the readily available antitrust laws.

It does show massive difference for battery life, but it can be difficult to use when there's no corresponding Google services to use inside an app.

It's only when I started updating all Google services, including Play Store, that it begins to show serious lag.

So, it needs 9 years for a Samsung flagship (with original software) to start showing noticeable lag.

This just shows that Samsung is a great phone.👍

$1400 for 4 years of security updates. Wow. I would have a serious problem buying another device from MS ever again.

DarlingYext, 12 Sep 2023That was a very Microsoft thing to do.Exactly - this is soo Microsoft! Why would anyone ever trust this company again and buy a mobile device from them? They are doing it over and over and over again, alienating even business customers as well as their most loyal fanbase.

Personally, I really liked Windows 10 when it came out on mobile. I purchased a cheap Lumia 640 and updated it to Win10 just to be able to experience this new OS. I even tolerated the horrible bugginess upon release, the "app gap," and the fact that the Nokia/MS devices were sub-par in many aspects compared with Androids and iPhones at the time.

Yet their software ran so smoothly on low-specced phones - to this day I can turn on my L640 and it still works relatively well. Just hasn't seen any updates in years.

After MS had killed their Windows phones and later released these DUOs with Android, I just knew that they would be DOA. Call them Surface all you want. Most people learned their lesson.

Just feeling bad for anyone who purchased one of these phones. MS doesn't care that you spent a lot of money and trusted their update promises. It's time to move on!
