Well kMicrosoft were never a stand out company even when they were making Nokia phones. Unless they will come with something trully special and extraordinary they will have difficualities to find their place among other cell phone brands.

zaryan, 12 Sep 2023Microsoft should stay out of smartphone/tablet market it... moreMicrosoft really does keep failing in the smartphone business, don't they? First it was the Zune (if that counts), then the Kin, then it was Nokia and Windows Phone, and now it's the Surface Duo.
They really should just stick to their software and other hardware.

It feels as if Microsoft were never serious when it comes to mobile product. Even Windows Phone failed due to management board and mobile app developers' lack of interest, despite its huge potential to be an Android-iOS duopoly disruptor, especially when Microsoft introduced Continuum two years before Samsung DeX and Huawei EMUI Desktop are even a thing. I'm still using my Lumia 950 as my second SIM today, and I can easily vouch that it still remains fluid and smooth as day one, unlike my Galaxy Note 4 that now shows noticeable lag despite no heavy use.

I find it hilarious that the company responsible for 70% of the world's OSes on computers and laptops, cannot support their own product for more than 3 years.
