This guy is funny.
As long as companies will not going to make main screen which can bend fold, flip but not breaks and will be made with GG victus or better nothing will gets increased by 5%.
I really wouldnt buy new fold or fllip phone even if it was available for 1-5 euros just because the cost of repair are very high and chance to break flip or fold phone are also very big.

chinese selling foldables to overseas won't trouble samsung. we already know that chinese flagships have always been overpriced. that's why they can only sell entry and midrangers. one of the weakest point of chinese makers are they are too lazy to invest on aftersales channels. foldales' biggest concern (in general) is long lasting durability of hinge. so, they cannot support those fragile phones properly outside their homeland. besides, they are also unable to price flagship devices properly either.

the tech nerd, 14 Sep 2023basically the flip phones are more small phones while fold ... moreI've gone 50 hours between charges on my Flip5. Battery isn't something I'm obsessed with. The matter of fact is, I accidentally got to 50 hours because I completely forgot to charge it two nights in a row, because it isn't something I spend my time thinking on.

Battery size is half the trick, it is more important to have properly maintained software and no one does that better than Samsung.

I can do more on the flex screen (small screen on flip5 incase you don't know) than what people can do on their iPhone. I only open up the phone when I want to do Multi-tasking which Apple still can't do, instead you guys get dynamic island LOL fake multi-tasking. My flip5 can do way more than iPhone so how is that a toy? what does that make iPhone? a brick? And android have reverse charging. Bet you guys don't know what that is huh? I use my reverse charging to charge my friend's iPhone when we go out cause their battery sucks. No, you don't need a cable, it's wireless....mind blowing right??? still don't get it?...okay........ stop hating cause Apple is so behind than Android and just join Android.

the tech nerd, 14 Sep 2023basically the flip phones are more small phones while fold ... moreNice, ill buy a foldable phone! I waited for that for months.

although due to lack of space i would not be surprised the flip phones might become thicker to accomodate bigger cameras and bigger batteries in them

the phablets or like fold series will remain thick and i think that's ohk, i have seen people using these as mainly tablet and phones and it can basically replace like ipad mini series and use it for some work too

thing is they need to solve durability first ,the whole plastic protective solution is not good and yeah crease looks bad just after 1.5 years in z flip 3 like i was interested in flip 5 too tbh and people have reported their screens cracking after 1.5-2 years use

At their current condition foldable phones make no sense. They are just too thick, so any size advantage is fully diminished by the thickness. Not to mention that many of them are too big even in folded state. My dream phone would be something of iPhone 13 Mini size and thickness in foldable state, and in this case foldability would be really beneficial.

Still won't make me return to the bandwagon and buy one, especially when I sold my Galaxy Fold for my current daily-driving LG V50 with its detachable dual-screen case. Despite all the ongoing hype about foldable phones, it dawned on me that the dual display solution gives me the best practicality and flexibility.

Anonymous, 14 Sep 2023people with iPhone are the ones always holding their phone ... moreShiny toy is still a toy and not a serious phone. Too limited and basic.

Who cares about market share. Most of those foldables making up the market share are cruddy flip phones that serve no purpose.

But seriously tell us WHY it is a practical phone, I'd genuinely love to know.

Oki, 13 Sep 2023Almost a whole decade and they will still be niche product.... more70 million is niche? The global average selling price of a smart phone is $300. The average price for a phone in the U.S. is $700. The average price for a foldable is probably around $1400-$1500.

You expect 150+ million people to suddenly jump from buying $300 phones to $1500 phones?

The Flip5 is hands down the most practical flagship phone ever made. Not even a discussion.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2023Foldables may look cool. But not that practical.I would see them really practical if there price be at starting point around like 300 euro.
None of the flagships are actually practical with there insane high price.
If your not a gamer then basically 300 euro phone is more then enough for you.
