Why is it always Geekbench? There are plenty of cross platform benchmarks out there. Geekbench does favor Apple. Its clear with release of v6 due to 8gen2 catching up in v5 with A16.
Multitasking is not even possible with Apple mobile chips.
8gen2 was already offering ray tracing and was about 20% faster in last gen. Apple had to increase GPU performance by 50%. Do the same with CPU crunching, less than 15% performance increase doesn't justify upgrade.

Anonymous, 15 Sep 2023you're stupid. "apple bench"? lol, I'm ... moreIndeed it is. Where as i don't think a single benchmark app is itself going to tell the whole story, the general consensus is that Apple A series Soc's have had and maintain a generational lead (at least) in terms of raw CPU power and efficiency. Though of course there is far more to an SOC than simply the CPU.

The same lead was also true until recently where GPU was concerned, and it appears Qualcomm (all credit to them) has turned the tables. Ultimately I don't see why people get so hung up on who has the most powerful what. Smartphones have been plenty powerful enough across the board for some time now.

I am an iPhone user currently, but as a consumer it is my hope that the performance gap between any of the big names is minimal at most, after all if i suddenly decided I'd like to switch back to an Android, then it would be my hope that I wouldn't be incurring a massive performance penalty in doing so. This is also why I like seeing Qualcomm bringing out their A game, because it will encourage Apple to do the same, and as a consumer I benefit either way.

So even though I have placed a pre-order for the 15 Pro Max, I'm hoping the 8 Gen 3 is indeed a marvel to behold and really gives the A17 a run for it's money.

Just as you mentioned "1 or 2 yrs and it will be sold out" I agree but listen yourself again. Been sold out doesn't mean the the life span of that device is over, to be more straightforward you sold it to someone who expects to see it value, to use it as long as the value holds, just as you bought it from Apple.

In conclusion *all your life* till the life span of that device is over. I even metioned it's an IRONY (an indirect speech) yet you didn't get it. I thought we have no kindergarten here.
