The iPhone 15 series uses only eSIM in the US, the SIM tray is still available everywhere else

Just like last year, Apple is doing this to prevent people from coming to the US to buy the iPhone at better prices than everywhere else to take it back to their country since all the bands are there and supported.
It's simple logic actually. Do I support it? No but I could see why Apple did this nice and easy.

I think (and hope) iPhone with dual simCards (i.e. Chinese version) should be available in the developing countries because of the infrastructure matter and the people habit matter.

And for those who do, nowadays there are a LOT of companies selling eSIM only international data plans for various countries. The business travelers usually just have international roaming enabled on their existing SIM as they are covered as expenses by the companies they work for.
So practically, almost zero issues for Americans, which is why Apple did it. I mean look at the iphone 14 series. Don’t seem to be an issue over there.
This is only an issue for scalpers who used to buy US iPhones to be sold overseas. Now they cannot do that anymore, thus the many artificial complaints and moaning.

This will finally push lazy telcos to implement esim thru out the world.
No need to visit phone shop in another country. Touch down immediately connect via esim to that country if you do not want to roam.
No need to keep track of physical sims.. keep useless pins..

I don't understand all the fuzz about iPhone eSIM only. It's only in USA and not the rest of the world. Most of the comments (people) here are not even from US. If you don't like phone with eSIM only, go get different phone. Maybe Nokia feature phone will suit you best.

Well for traveling Americans it's not really practical to not have a sim tray anymore, as long as the space is wasted it is a bit of a nonsense to remove it I guess
