YUKI93, 18 Sep 2023I don't think price is the problem. You're not pa... moreWell I can buy a 350EUR phone every 3 years, so in the end I'll pay the same amount, but have better phones for the next ~10years.

I don't think price is the problem. You're not paying €700/£650 for something that can only last two or three years with minimal software support. Even Samsung cannot give more than five years of security patches on their flagship phones that cost twice the price of this Fairphone. Also, you pay a relatively low price for its stupidly low repairability. Buying another and another used phones means that you're practically preaching e-waste.

For me, the problem has always been the availability. I always applaud Fairphone for seriously taking carbon neutrality and environmental sustainability. However, it also means they never sell it outside the EU, or it'll hurt their low carbon emission footprint. There's not even a third-party dealer who can sell it through Amazon.

this article was actually nicely written.
      good job people

I saw the 10EUR adapter they are selling on their site and they are even bragging "they want to minimize e-waste, so there's nothing else in the box".

WOW, they are just totally mocking their fans.

hmm, 17 Sep 2023You can't repair slowness this phone have in 5 years. ... moreWhere do you get your info, from chinaware bashing europe.com? The company is more then a decade old and no battery from their phone line got overpriced, this device costs 699 euros and it's battery costs 40 euros. Your vision of the future is not only distorted is also false and pretentios, while you have no idea about what you're talking about and keep pushing poco clones in every comment. You like paying for garbageware, have fun, but for g sake stop a little and open your eyes, nobody that is interested in a fairphone will ever consider poco clone. And that is not because they do not know poco clone and the chinese army of ewaste devices, it is because they do not care about them, so nope you're not out-smarting anybody with your poco clone comparisons. Get over yourself and respect peoples decisions and principles. If you can't do that, you shouldn't be allowed comment hier.

hmm, 17 Sep 2023You can't repair slowness this phone have in 5 years. ... moreObviously, you haven't seen the modding community lol. They made the Note 3 usable, even if only secondary phone, with Android 11. Impressive after being told by Scamsung that it cannot run Android 6. FP will be better since a company supports it.
You're free to keep buying new stuff every year. Let FP buyers support it however they want.

And after 5 years to more 3 OS updates.
If your battery needs to be repaired in 5 years then that battery probably cost around 150-200 euro cause the phone now cost 999 so why not.
In 5 years you probably have phones that cost 150-200 euro.
Well even now with Redmi 12 5G with SD 4 Gen 2 and 450k Antutu v10 score.
While Fairphone 5 is around 605k Antutu v10 score and that Redmi 12 5G dont have global yet but still should stay under 200 euro. So if even now we see phones with this type of performance then think about what be 5 years in the future
