PhoneFreak45, 16 Sep 2023I can barely comprehend how that commenter thought that was... moreAll those things unfortunately really only give it an edge to the iPhone. And even then some things are still better even on the iPhone. Sadly in price point and being behind compared to others in many of those aspects they don't quite justify themselves

It'll be a miracle if Sony releases their flagships simultaneously together or a week apart from samsung instead of quarter of the month or close to end of the year later.

"You can also see the top 70 most popular phones on GSMArena and no any single Sony phone there."
Go to GSMarena's home page, look at the top 10 devices by fans. Sony is number 7. People still care about Sony

no accessories on a sony phone may be the only downside. but they still retain midrange features within the unit. such as sd slot and 3.5mm jack.

6x does seem do the marketing trick... it seems like a lot.
It does give me one more idea, what if someone makes ultrawide their main camera? Then they can claim 10x zoom on even 120mm, and it wouldn't be too wrong...
And considering 26mm as normal 1x, I think 156mm is 6X, even 150mm is ok, but 140mm would be somewhat a misrepresentation.
Let's hope Sony doesn't actually do this.

I can say clearly now, once you taste 10x, you hardly can go back.
More like I want 15x.
And I don't mean great performance in low light, I mean sharp image in hdr raw in day light.

Doesn't matter when there's too much hardware problems with the brand.
Horrible and silent speakers.
Zero noise canceling microphones, unless you want to record video. Extremely yellow skin on Asians (watch Tokyo drift). Camera software glitches on random times and needs force shutdown.

"Note: This is a self declared rumor made using an egg tray and past Xperia launches."
If that's already not enough of a red flag. Also, Sony phones never tend to get leaked so often. If this is Samsung or Apple or even Google, there'd be tonnes of leaks by now.

PhoneFreak45, 16 Sep 2023Better software support and stability, wow it's almost... moreI can totally understand your arguments. Still, they couldn't be less important. You and I, we are also not charities. We don't care about the reasons behind business decisions but about product quality and value for money.
You explain very well, why Sony phones have inferior quality and value for money. Am I supposed to pity Sony and buy a worse phone for the same money?

It will have an amazing spec sheet, no doubt. How many of the features will actually work? How many features will be lost after a software upgrade because Sony doesn't want to maintain them? How much of the OS will be missing due to lack of drivers and licensing? How many advertised radio bands will be disabled because Sony doesn't want to pay for testing and certification for them? Does Sony even have SA 5G on their 5G phones yet?

rizki1, 16 Sep 2023I'm not saying the iPhone 15 is good or popular, it... moreBetter software support and stability, wow it's almost like those companies have an order of magnitude more development resources available than Sony? Sony is working within their means. They are a business not a charity. If increasing support window would increase the price too much, it's absolutely understandable that they didn't. Their phones are already more expensive thanks to low numbers sold, they don't need that. You really don't know how business works. I'll admit I'm no expert, but I know enough to know that it's nowhere near as black and white as this business should provide this because this business provides this. These are businesses, not your parents.
