I never said which division holds them down. The fact is regardless of which part of the company holds them down is that their own company holds them down.
They could be leaders in mobile division and making way more profit.

no accessories on a sony phone may be the only downside. but they still retain midrange features within the unit. such as sd slot and 3.5mm jack.

6x does seem do the marketing trick... it seems like a lot.
It does give me one more idea, what if someone makes ultrawide their main camera? Then they can claim 10x zoom on even 120mm, and it wouldn't be too wrong...
And considering 26mm as normal 1x, I think 156mm is 6X, even 150mm is ok, but 140mm would be somewhat a misrepresentation.
Let's hope Sony doesn't actually do this.
