Did it take 240W from the wall or, did ... moreOf course it drew the power from the wall, but do remember that Power (measured in watts) (W) is equal to voltage (measured in volts) (V) multiple to current (measured in amperes) (A) , P=VA, which means 240W is derived from 20V.12A, based on the charging brick, so that it drew 20V from the wall.

The way charging speed is increasing, looks like in few years that will cross 1 kilowatt charging speed.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2023No temperature info. Obviously did not remain below 43 celsius. Still better than having 43 celsius for 5 from 10 minutes of full charge time than having a 2-3 hours of 40 celsius full charge any other phone.

As much as I like the fast charging, I think full charge in 30 mins is a sweet spot.
In my opinion, this 240w charging is a good Innovation but nothing too extraordinary as these days companies are only focusing on specs sheet. 100w charging,150w charging, 240w charging. Similar for RAM, 12gb, 15gb, 24gb etc..
I think the biggest Innovation would be a proper and great in-display camera which I doubt will happen anytime soon considering how lethargic these phone companies have become.

the tech is impressive, it is awesome to see the improvements. My phone charges at 67W and I'm still impressed at how fast that is. I can top my battery while I take a bath and get ready to get out.
My only concern is heat, in this case I have a metal top where I charge the phone and I hardly reach 36° celsius at the highest point, but without it and in a warm place I could reach beyond 40°C. That is what actually damage the batteries, heat, not the charging speeds per se.

But i think also that charging tech is very mature now.
No need to worry about that imo.
My Edge 40 Pro is cooler while charging then G100 for example.
