18 September 2023
The 13T and 13T Pro won't be as high-end as the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro from December. The official unveiling is next week.

You can buy the regular 13 (brand new, with warranty) for 711€ online within the EU, the pricing Xiaomi is going for is nuts, especially when they released pretty much the same phone for less money in Asia.

Miss the days when Mi # T Pro models had all the bells and whistles, and a friendly price tag.

$1000 is a bit much, especially with all the bloat/spyware this ships with

Deez1GuyNews, 20 Sep 2023I liked this brand when they were really different in term ... moreI'm agree that Xiaomi is less competitive than before...but still more than Apple and Samsung.

13T brings good cameras on cheaper non-flagship phones
      650€...
      You've got a 1/1.28" sensor...iPhone 15, 15 Plus, S23 and S23 Plus have 1/1.56 for more than 900€.
      You've got a 50mm/50MP camera...iPhone 15, 15 Plus have nothing, S23, S23 Plus have 70mm but but with a cheap 10MP, 1/3,94" sensor
      You've got 256GB...15, 15 Plus, S23, S23 start with 128GB
      You've got fast charge...
      15, 15 Plus have 60Hz screen, no AV1 support, no wifi 6E...
8200 Ultra isn't flagships but more than good enough to run everything with very good performances...except ray-tracing

And for 800€ you've got the same with a flagship soc, as good as 8 Gen 2 (even better in ray-tracing), better than A16...

I liked this brand when they were really different in term of price , but after mi 10t series they got something in their head or maybe an apple fell on their heads , why would anyone in the world would buy a xiaomi phone at the price of some major companies like apple iphones, or Samsung galaxy phones google pixel also their for better software support and everything...

They will have storage costs whichever country they operate in (including China). They also will have other costs in China that they don't have abroad though. For example, in China most of the big brands offer a 1 hour repair service in all major cities and need lots of service points in and staff to support this. Also, they will have a lot more physical stores. I checked Xiaomi's stores in Shanghai, where I am located and here alone for example and they have way over 100 stores (I gave up counting). Maintaining these stores is quite a high cost. They will have comparitively few physical stores in European countries.

In fact, the iPhone 2G is so many miles ahead of 13t.

JayRoar, 19 Sep 2023I thought you only dont have to pay duties if the item is f... moreIt depends on the the type product when it's coming from outside the EU. Smartphones have 0% customs duty in Europe when coming from China or anywhere outside the EU. The EU Customs Tariff (Taric) website is the official EU source for this. You can look up all the products on that and highlight where the product is coming from to see what customs duties apply. The Customs rules are common across the EU. I double checked for smartphones and it is definitely 0%. VAT is the only real tax on the phones and that has to be paid by consumers. VAT differs from European country to European country (each country can set their own VAT rate) but it is close to 20% in the vast majority of European countries.
