        They think if ppl see something that reminds of iphone but cheaper, then ppl that want iphone might consider their phones instead.

        Guess why chinese phones have UIs that are iOS alike?
        Phone that UIs dont remind of iOS dont make success in China.

          I guess they found out what it could get them: more money.

          Apple isn’t the dominant smartphone manufacturer and yet they are the highest valued tech company? Make the most money out of all the phone makers?

            Hope android oems dont copy the manufacturing issues ppl are reporting about newer iphones.

              I love to see here " no jack, no buy" , " no sd slot , no buy".
              I bet these ppl have phones that lack both.

                Interesting concept with a possible chaos with so many different classes of cards.

                Yet, it was doomed the moment phone manufacturers saw huge profit in charging 50-100$ for extra 128 GB and even more on a long turn Cloud services.

                Apple made $4.5 billion in 2022 with the average user spending 2.5$ monthly.

                  Not heard of SuperSIM before but it's an amazing idea

                    Looking at the homemade supersim. Seems like filing down is needed. I think that's because the double sided tape has some thickness? If manufacturers offer sim chips with sticky back that lines up with any micro sd. I wonder if that works?

                      Coincidentally I decided today I was going to forfeit my second sim card and place a MicroSd card in there rather,thus carrying two phones,which I vehemently do not enjoy,because my music collections and video and some games were eating my internal storage (I occasionally use Spotify and Netflix I know).left to me alone SD should be brought back no cap,e-sims should be mandatory whiles at it.

                        And ofc it is Apple , the "light of our civilization" that promotes some of the most orwellian stuff. E-sim could always be done. It was a sense of protecting protepry rights but also the rights of one to do change a device in a whim that laid to the wide use of Sim cards.

                        What Apple does is a giant leap back and the fact that nobody bats an eyelid over in the US is problematic to say the least. Hopefully the EU would say no. They are slow beaut eventually get the gist.

                        Already returning replaceable batteries in EU and forced Apple to use USB-C. Hopefully try would make it illegal to offer estim only models.

                        Do you want to offer an esim model? Fine. You should also sell a sim card model too.

                        Btw esims do make sense in micro devices like watches. I'm all for it there. But forcing it on phones and tablets? Lol, hope it never flies in more liberal places like the EU. America can have all the Orwellian stuff they'd like.

                          That's the first time I heard about SuperSIM, ngl that idea of combining a SIM card and a microSD card is a great idea

                            When Android copy Apple (remove features), Apple gets more sales.

                            When Apple copies Android (add USB-c, widgets), Apple gets more sales.

                            Conclusion - there is no winning, unless Android creates things that are UNIQUE and ADDS features.

                              I for example would never buy a phone without a microSD slot (and audio jack). Having the slot doesn't stop you to use the cloud, nor you're forced to used a card, but it's there when you need it. And it's very easy to move a lot of data, or when you change phones because not everyone lives in areas with high-speed internet, and the card would cost you a lot less than paying for cloud.

                              By the way, never heard about SuperSims, looks like a very good idea, but unfortunately, everyone is following Apple these days.
