Anders, 21 Sep 2023I'm talking about general consumers. You're talki... moreJudging by how the market has fluctuated over the years it does seem that nothing much is changing over the past 5 years or so, so I don't really care what the media may say about it, market share doesn't lie.

Cpt.Power, 21 Sep 2023In all honestly Ace 2 by Oneplus, Poco F5 pro or this Redmi... moreDo this easy experiment for me

Get 1 unit of iphone 13 and one unit of any of these phone.
Ask everyone you see during the day which one they would choose if you were going to gift them.

None of them will choose xiaomi. 100% will be choosing iphone.

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2023You seem to have no idea what Android offers besides those ... moreI'm talking about general consumers. You're talking about probably 1% of consumers. Seriously, how many people do you think are gonna be swayed to buy android over iPhone because they can install Linux on it?

Under 30s are already massively swinging towards iPhone from Android. The future is bleak for Android. This is the reality

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2023Would have been even more interesting if you told us about ... moreGSMA plan to make articles about the other two phones later.

I have to clarify something to non Android users.
No you don't even need Android 11 to play anything or download apps .I have an old Android 10 phone and It works with app . And it was released in 2019
So 2 or 3 updates for a phone in order to lower cost . Doesn't affect user experience.
So give an example of an app that doesn't work on 5 years old game is better than putting innovation in every statement because you lack argument.
Ps: I'm just talking about os, so chill
Hardware depends on the user preference

Anders, 21 Sep 2023I genuinely don't understand why anyone would get this... moreYou seem to have no idea what Android offers besides those things. I can even install a linux subsystem.

Thought it'll be really pricey for the specs, this phone is good enough for me

Anders, 21 Sep 2023I genuinely don't understand why anyone would get this... moreAnd again, iOS and Android are very different OS. You can still use Android 13 for the next 3 years. Most apps in the Play Store require 5.0-7.0 some 10-11 like Instagram and Facebook. And this Redmi might get 4 years or more of security and we don't know yet.

I genuinely don't understand why anyone would get this over an iPhone now. The reason to get android phones was they offered things iPhone didn't, headphone jack, microSD, FM radio etc.

But since that's no longer the case, might as well get an iPhone and get longer software support, better camera software, better security, more app compatibility etc.

I mean "expense" isn't really a valid argument because this Xiaomi will get 2 years of software updates whereas an iPhone will get 5 or so. So for example one iPhone for €800 that lasts 5 years is better value than one Redmi for €500 that lasts 2 years.

Just to clarify, I really don't like iPhones. But when all Android phones have adopted all the anti-consumer choices of iPhone then you may as well just get the OG

Would have been even more interesting if you told us about the other two variants instead of just the most expensive one. I guess I‘ll have to look at the spec sheets then

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2023Now let's wait for Note 13T, Note 13T Pro, Note 13... moreWithout Redmi releasing this, you won't be able to taste the newest Snapdragon and Mediatek SoC. Others are still stuck with old Exynos and Snapdragon. And you all will complain about Snapdragon 695, 7 Gen 1, G85, G99, Exynos 1280 etc.

And you know what? Only 1 phone with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and 7+ Gen 2 released globally.

Winlee, 21 Sep 2023I am curious on why they removed the jack for the pro + mod... moreBecause having fewer features makes a phone more "premium" don't ya know... That's what people here seem to think anyway

In all honestly Ace 2 by Oneplus, Poco F5 pro or this Redmi note 13 pro plus looks far more better than Apple iphone 15 pro max for 3 times the price.

Equivalent to $279 in China, then $579 in Europe for same phone.

Redmi is really fighting back against Infinix and Realme. This needs to be sold in Indonesia, Realme 11 Pro+ is on sale and there are no opponents.

                                  Now let's wait for

                                  Note 13T, Note 13T Pro, Note 13 4G , Note 13s , Note 13 SE, Note 13 Turbo Note 13 Lite.

I am curious on why they removed the jack for the pro + model but kept it for the pro and base model.

Pricing is very aggressive. The 5000mah battery plus the more efficient D7200 should make better numbers in the battery tests compared to its predecessor. The design is also quite revamped now. It is overall an improvement, but the removal of 3.5mm jack is hard to understand in this price range.
