Kuo: iPhone 15 Pro overheating due to compromised thermal design

27 September 2023
Apple went too far with the weight reduction of the cooling system.

"The only way to actually prevent a phone from overheating with a software update is to limit its performance"

Oh Oh......for sure some people will bench it now and after the os update...
*grabs popcorn*

Yet they expect this to run re4 and village 🤣🤣🤣

Compromised thermal design is one thing but why does the back of the Pro Max crack so easily as if it's made out of nothing?

[deleted post]Nothing to do where it's made

NickValok, 27 Sep 2023According to Geekerwan's analysis, the A17 pro's ... moreWay better than any Android handset?? Says who?? It's the same thing over and over my partners iPhone 11 Pro overheats often so I don't think so. Android manufacturers are not worse at dealing with it quite the opposite

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2023Any idea on thermal power specifications (Limits, periods, ... moreAccording to Geekerwan's analysis, the A17 pro's CPU consumes up to 14+ watts, and the GPU consumes up to 11+ watts.
We've never seen this much power in a smartphone chip before.

The CPU's power consumption curve is better than any other Android chipset, but the maximum power consumption is also higher than other chipsets.
The GPU is not as good as MediaTek's Dimensity, which is known for its high power consumption.

You can easily find Geekerwan's analysis on YouTube if you want.

NickValok, 27 Sep 2023Wrong, Kuo is only justifying TSMC because he's Taiwan... more"Multiple analyses" - that sounds like bulls**t. The phone was barely released

Forget the iPhone 15 Pro Max, keep it cool with the Galaxy S23 Ultra

Wrong, Kuo is only justifying TSMC because he's Taiwanese.
Apple's A17 pro chip has already been shown by multiple analyses to exceed the power consumption that mobile chips can reliably operate at. These issues are more likely to be a problem with the chip manufacturing process than with the design of the device, it's like looking at the Samsung foundry.
