Man, I love the Pixel series now. I didn't love it so much when I bought the 6 Pro, but after the fixes and 2 years of usage, I'm kinda in love with vanilla Android, and the AI tricks it can do. My only gripe is the battery life, and I hope the 8 makes big improvements.

Its Milan, 27 Sep 2023remember when pixel 6 was launched at $599 I remember when the Pixel XL 128GB was launched in 2016 for $869. It's seven years later and the 128GB Pixel 8 Pro is $899. Not bad.

In my opinion the main news is actually that the Pixel 8 Pro will also get an updated periscope camera with an approximately 20% larger effective diameter (though the field of view is allegedly a tiny bit wider: 112mm instead of 116.5mm).
This is important as the periscope camera of the 7 Pro suffers from diffraction. Theoretically, the larger effective diameter could let you zoom up to 1.2x as much as previously at the same quality (as previously) at pixel level (for example 12x instead of 10x).
In a store I tested that my 7 Pro outperforms the S23 Ultra at 15x, if Google's short Night Sight mode is used. If the 8 Pro periscope camera was even better, this would be great. Of course, the image processing must not be artificial (Google's image processing is very bad at 20x-30x, a 2x crop from a 15x image is usually significantly better than a 30x image, that's why I always choose 15x + short Night Sight with the 7 Pro, the short Night Sight mode often improves the sharpness even in very good light conditions due to a better signal to noise ratio. Though, recently, after an update, there was a bug in the camera app which often made the camera app crash when you used the periscope camera with Night Sight. I don't know whether this has been fixed as I haven't tested the latest updates and I solved the issue by installing a previous version of Google's stock camera app).

unlike EU and India or other parts of world where companies are required by law to state final price including Taxes so customer knows how much they are spending.

Wish the Pro was offered in that color. I'm not a huge fan of that Blue color, and I don't want yet another Black phone. The Porcelain for some reason doesn't look as nice as the one found with the Pixel Fold.
