A17 Pro on 15 Pro Max throttled by 35% in less than 2 minutes on 3DMark's Stress Test and fall under the 9200+ on Xiaomi 13T Pro!
You've fooled by a single benchmark : Geekbench...the benchmark that tests Android's Arm V9 with...Arm V8 instructions set.
Most Geekbench subtests are AI and image procession (is it usefull? These things should be made by NPU and ISP, not by CPU!) on which V9 Vectors (SVE2) and Matrix should heavilly improve...how can anyone who have even tiny knowledge about architectures can believe in Geekbench?
Today, Apple is late in nearly everything :
- 4 years late compare to Mediatek on AV1 hardware support...4 years!
- 1 years on ray-tracing
- 2 years on LPDDR5X support (+30% bandwidth)
- 2 years on I/O storage speed...nvme's speed on 15 Pro Max is about 2000Mo/s, you can find UFS4.0 on Dimensity 9200 and 8 Gen 2, speed can reach yet about 3500Mo/s like on Xiaomi 13T Pro (+75%)
- still unable to build 5G...they bought Intel's modems...4 years ago! Unisoc is able to make 5G modem, maybe Apple should copy chinese!
- still using wifi 6 on 15 and 15 Plus...6E on 15 Pro and Pro Max...Wifi 7 is available

Even more absurd is you claiming the A17 Pro is a better SOC and yet at the same time it cannot match last year's Android flagship SOC or even maintain a consistent and reliable FPS at max settings.

I am not surprised, if ... moreYou can dream... but not happening. Even though early rumors are suggesting Samsung 3nm is to be better but it's not that better that Apple would turn to Samsung. Samsung has one chance and probably they are gonna cock it up anyway. They should make Exynos 2400 on 3nm node and make it EFFICIENCY KING and perform at least at Mediatek level. Because this can't compete with 8gen 3 and A17 because of GPU.
Follow Huawei's steps like Kirin 990. Focused on efficiency and optimization.

Litography is not going to solve this issues. It is chip design issue.
8g3 and D9300 use same fab process of A17 Pro. We are in late september, at this points chinese brands have chips to use on phones they plan to announce in november like X100/100 Pro, mi 14/14 pro. Mass production fase already.
Dimensity 9300 is said to be Quad X4 + quad A7xx. No A5xx cores to balance.
8g3 has ONE core X4.

Let's wait for samsung 3nm . If they can bring out less heating chip then the tsmc chip manufacturing of world may change from tsmc to samsung. This is the best chance for samsung

You also need a design to do so. which they don't have and won't have for some years. All they can do is Theft... like other Chinese backed companies.
TSMC had been taking SMIC to court for at least a dozen times and some inside settlements are not even counted. 🤣🤣
