Anonymous, 28 Sep 2023At least they didnt release the chip even when its overheat... moreThe "problem" is the same across the industry. Pushing chips past their sweet spot to achieve higher synthetic benchmarks. Just look at the SD8g1. One Plus managed to get similar efficiency as the + model from other OEMs, simply by using a more reasonable scheduler. Back when Anand did in depth testing of SOCs he proved time and again that there was little wrong with exynos, and that issues were in the firmware/scheduler. This same mentality plagues exynos modems, targeting peak bandwidth speeds while sacrificing stability.

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2023People are slowly getting tired of crippled overpriced toys?Probably so. ASML could make up that 30% easily by selling to SMIC if they were allowed.

CargoJoe, 28 Sep 2023I'll tell you all this; They didn't reduce orders... moreAnd that's even worse for them, because the trend doesn't stop with a single model or brand and won't be reversed by fixing their SoC.

I'll tell you all this; They didn't reduce orders because of the "overheating" issues.

Cpt.Power, 28 Sep 2023Maybe they shpuld ask Mediatek hw to make proper 3nm chipse... moreMediatek does nothing. Litography is from semicon company, not the chip designer.

Mediatek ( taiwanese by the way) does not have own factory.

If Apple do their own in-house supply I guess might be better
Like Intel did their own in-house

                      Blah blah blah

What happened to the "this is the most popular iPhone launch ever" spam?
Are you telling us it was all a lie to try sell stockpiles of phones?

Maybe they shpuld ask Mediatek hw to make proper 3nm chipsets.
Apple overheating CPU in Iphones 15 is really bad.
I am definitely sure Mediatek will not make the same mistake.

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2023With all a17 issues, apple should use 8g3 on iphone 16 pro4 Gen 3 are better.

I like the clickbait title that just mentions Apple. Won't anyone think of the Snapdragons?!

Recession is coming and as with all things, people will buy less in dire times. Makes sense.
