Bigger sensor size does not determine better pics, they let in more light.
Higher pixels does not mean better pics BUT its your best friend if you love photoshop especially in RAW.
Some compacts can take better pics than dslr just like how the pureview 808 takes better pics than the olympus despite 'supposed' inferior sensor, lens, camera build and many more factors.
Higher grade of camera doesnt necessary mean its superior to others, there has been many known cameras that even gave the 5D a run for their money.

The Nokia 808 PureView doesn't got a 41 MP camera, it actually got a sensor which is of 41 MP, approximately capable up to 38 MP. It over-samples images to 3 MP, 5MP, 8MP. This is how the 808 PureView's Camera Sensor works. Correct me if I am wrong but this is the most written from my knowledge about the 808 PureView.

The higher optical zoom capability, the more batt draining! Please bear in mind.
If this rumor is true, users will have to sacrifice to use the smartphone solely as a smartphone or a camera, not both.
To have best image quality, please get a compact camera, mirrorless interchangeable lense camera or DSLR. Do not depend solely on mobile phones. =D

It even says in the article that nokias zoom feature is done differently, and 16mp is nowhere near the 41mp camera of the 808, and in fact 16mp camera sensor is on at least one other mobile phone the HTC and maybe one more phone! And the specs are not exactly wow factor either,,,,, but they clearly are trying to merge digital compact cameras and phones together, which all companies have been doing or trying to for years, i see no copying here, but. I also do nOt really see anything exciting either, unless it has some giant sensor similar to compact cameras or bigger the pictures will still look rubbish anyway.

here we go again exclusively by samsung,
10x optical zoom and pinhole sized lens.
Their cameraphone still carries the pixon series remant.
Sorry samsung but you cannot make a good camera-smartphone.
Best go play the sammy trademark number of cores, overclocking of processor, higher ram with that shitty design that even sony ericsson phones look better.

8 GB memory nowadays in smartphones specially "cameraphones" is a bit disappointing. As it is known in Android, in 8 GB, the actual memory available would be around 3.xxx GB. Samsung did a good thing by making a SD card slot available but once again, Samsung failed previously while comparing with the Almighty 808 Pureview. Now let's see if this new camera phone could be of some competition.

8GB built in storage? Hahahaha seriously? Nad with all that sammy bloatcrap, you'll end up with 4GB or less, no thanks. Sammy should really consider to partition the system another way.

Samsung has the thin profile camera technology. It is called membrane photo sensor.
