10 October 2023
The NM (Nano Memory) card is as big as a nano SIM card and fits in the same slot.

Hemedans, 10 Oct 2023Why make this standard instead of faster standard like Ufs one? ufs cards have rather weird pin layout, and they are incompatible in many devices. it's either difficult to find the card reader to use it on other devices. just an obscure card format from samsung. they rather follow apple than adapting their UFS card format..

AnonD-1121190, 11 Oct 2023U can buy cheaper on fb market no one should ever buy cheap sd cards on facebook marketplace, they usually sell used stuff there. and don't expect them to be reliable in long term use. you'd throw those away with irreplaceable data for sure.

Someone, 10 Oct 2023So if I use eSIM I can put one in the SIM tray?Man what the u asking u don't know what is esim? That's not physical it is just scanning barcode provided by operator so you will activate just gateway for your phone..
Your phone in reality can or could make calls without physical sim cards but they made smartphones or mobile phones in past purposely this way when u don't have an "sim" card in phone u have no signal.. In reality you HAVE the signal it is just disabled
On purpose so u have to pay.. They only allowed you to uae hospital number or police or firemen to call so basically sim card has little chip same as in you credit card or debit card only to allow or enable or "open gate" so you can make call.. Some people long time ago were trying to hack old phones so you could make phone calls same like emergency calls..

potato4k, 11 Oct 2023LOL. You’re not testing the speed of your internal storage.... moreThat's precisely my point. If internal storage really is faster than a microSD card, I shouldn't see similar transfer speeds when transferring files from the card.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023If micro SD cards are so good then why don't laptops a... moreThat's because microSD cards can be used beyond smartphones and laptops like drones and car dashcams. Also, it can easily pull double duty for DSLR/Mirrorless cameras with the equipped SD card adapter.

Meanwhile, SSD is still predominantly limited to desktops, laptops, and gaming handhelds. Also, SSDs are still more expensive than microSD cards.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2023My total app size is 60gb so it's clearly not apps tha... more60GB for total app size is typical in today's norm, and that's before you factor in your phone's OS system partition. Even for me, I've used 104GB of my phone's internal storage, which includes 26GB of system partition, 31GB of mobile games, and 34GB of other apps. I also checked how much capacity I've used on my phone's 512GB microSD card slot, and I used exactly half of it. That means 356GB of total used storage as of this writing.

You know what that means? If I can't have phones with a microSD card slot, I have to go for a phone with 512GB of internal storage, and they're far from cheap. To give you a clear context, a 512GB storage upgrade costs $180 for Samsung S23 Ultra 256GB and $200 for Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB. Even Google would ask an extra $180 to upgrade the internal storage from 128GB to 512GB. By contrast, I can easily score two SanDisk Extreme 1TB microSD cards at Amazon and have 2TB of extra storage in my hands when needed. It does show how much everything is wrong in the current smartphone industry. Only Sony still has true common sense to keep it on their phones.
