10 October 2023
The NM (Nano Memory) card is as big as a nano SIM card and fits in the same slot.

I experimented with transfer speed by transferring a 2.92GB folder of 50 screen-recorded 1080p videos. Since I wanted to see how fast my phone's internal storage was, I moved the folder from my microSD card to it. Guess the highest transfer speed I got from it? 45MB/s. That was the same speed I got when I moved back that folder to my microSD card, and it's more than a year old. All those so-called "bragging" about "mIcRosD cArD aRe Slow" end up completely pointless.

A bit costly cause in amazon with 100 USD anyone can get 1 TB sd card from sandisk and with 40 USD a 512 gb samsung sd card as of now.
But this card is more useful for them whose phone don't have sd card slot.

Also, why spend $100 just to get an extra 128GB of internal storage when I can easily get a SanDisk Extreme Pro 1TB microSD card for the same money and get up to 8x more storage.

Finally, didn't know lexar made nm cards ,I found out that even Hp made nm cards ,the sad part of all of this, they are still hard to find.
I personally try to buy a nm card reader for 4 years and still cannot find one, if i find it is very expensive and after i buy it i get a message that is not in stock !

YUKI93, 10 Oct 2023Couldn't agree more. I paid $40 for my Kingston 512GB ... moreAlso, people may say "but internal storage is faster than memory card". No one needs crazy fast random reads/writes on phones and for that, whatever capacity of internal storage is enough. For the rest, it's mostly sequential reads and writes and for that, memory card is enough as they are pretty fast now. Just look at Steam Deck. The fact that memory card isn't performing noteworthy slower than M.2 drives shows how whole mobile industry is ripping of people by selling them ridiculously overpriced internal storage with zero added value.

SShock, 10 Oct 2023They don't want you to buy 256GB memory card for 15€, ... moreCouldn't agree more. I paid $40 for my Kingston 512GB microSD card and still has more than half the space for all my photos, videos, and console emulation files. If I have a phone without a microSD card, I'd be running out of storage because of the ever-growing mobile apps' total size.

Also, I can get a SanDisk Extreme Pro 1TB microSD card for the same price and have up to 8x more storage instead of 2x more storage from paying the same money for internal storage capacity upgrade.

That's why I only look at Sony after LG has exited the smartphone market as they still has the real common sense to keep the microSD card slot, alongside the headphone jack, on their premium flagship phones. Sony even make the microSD card slot completely toolless for this year's Xperia 1/5 Mk5, and that got my top respect.

Lsi, 10 Oct 2023Samsung UFS memory card is way superior and that should be ... moreThat cost way more than an NM card, let alone a microSD card, so I totally doubt it'd be the future.

At the moment, it's only limited to Huawei phones, so it's somewhat a deal breaker. Also, even outside of smartphones, there are no drones or DSLR/Mirrorless cameras with NM card slot. Maybe if Huawei allows everyone else to use NM card slot, then we'll see more adoption to it.
