Edit: no, I was wrong. Tensor G3 is built on the standard 4LPP node which improves on power consumption and performance from the older 4LPE node, but not on transistor density. Overall transistor density for Samsung's current 4nm nodes are at spitting distance from those of TSMC's 5nm nodes, while other factors are worse such as SRAM bit-cell size.

Top GPU only matters to an extremely small % of users and is still good enough to run every game out there without issue (except high demanding emulation). All that matters to the vast majority is UX which CPUs have well outpaced in terms of power requirements for top experience.

Plus, this time Dimensity 9200+ is also a power hog (up to 17W power according to Geekerwan's SOCPK graphs).

Jman, 12 Oct 2023 People here slamming the G3 for being slow, when Google op... moreReminds me of Kirin 9000s. Although no match of 8 gen 2, it fits extraordinarily well with HarmonyOS 4 by Huawei.
The Kirin 9000 before the sanctions was obviously a power hog if we only looked at its CPU and GPU config (No less aggressive than Tensor G1). However, it did manage to beat Snapdragon 888 thanks to an enormous number of tweaks from the engineers there, despite being 1 generation behind on CPU.

I don't see how is Samsung's 4nm node is 1.5-2 years behind TSMC's 4nm, when efficiency is on the same level for tensor G3 and MTK 9200.

Besides the one that did mention Poco F5, only did so to point out how bad Tensor G3 is for its money/flagship status, which is true.
Tensor chips are only good for cheaper Pixel A series. Not only are they under performing in general, they are also holding back battery life.

With this performance even Poco F1 were a lot faster and that was a 2018 Xiaomi phone with starting price of 360 euros for global version.
I am really sorry here and i do understand raw power is not everything but having a rolls royce with equal power of peugeot 206 or polish fiat or skoda 120 is a no for me.
