Google Pixel 8's Tensor G3 GPU tests show weak performance but decent efficiency

12 October 2023
Its efficiency is comparable to the Dimensity 9200 (same GPU but with more cores and fabbed by TSMC rather than Samsung), but it delivers lower frame rates in tests.

Meh, couple the snapdragon 865 chipset with a poor stability of 66% and you're getting a tensor g3.

Raw numbers are indeed disappointing, but still, Pixel 8 series can do more things than most S8G2 phones (and likely S8G3 ones too) let alone the camera quality right here at the very top.

I used to think the Tensor chip being gens behind was daylight robbery, but honestly the raw numbers gap isn't something I could've use anyway. On the contrary, the mad photography edit features that aren't coming to S8G3 phones anytime soon ? That's more like it.

It shows that the preorder people fell for it, 1100€ for a mid range cpu again and inferior battery to current flagships, but hey at least you got pixel buds or a pixel watch

not even beating a14 is crazy 💀💀

At this point its simply embarrassing, its their 3rd generation and they are still way behind the competition

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 in the Poco F5 outperforms this

Sure, performance is not everything, but when I pay a 1000$ I expect it to perform in line with the rest

The moral here is to avoid Samsung fabbed SoCs at all costs, even if you have a fire extinguisher.
