The CPU configuration is reportedly 1x3.25 GHz Cortex-X4 & 3x2.85 GHz Cortex-X4 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A720.

I can believe that Mediatek is making this chipset, but I really doubt this is going to be their next flagship smartphone chipset. This seems a lot like it's a chip for chromebooks or windows on arm

    Every phone with 1(!) X3 core throttles in the stress test to 80% in 30 minutes. Imagine 4 X4 cores. No chance, not gonna happen.

          "Mediatek is trying something unseen before by omitting the low-power cores" - this is false, years after everyone started using big.little, qualcomm made the sd 820 with no little cores. It was less efficient than the exynos 8890.

              I'm concerned about how this 9300 will handle thermals and power consumption. Guess we'll see.

                  Exynos 9810 was also overall 20% faster than sd845 in single core, we all know how that went.

                          4 X4 is nuts. From what I understand, the main X4 will replace X3, the under clocked X4s with replace A715s and underclocked A720 will replace A5xx series.
                          If underclocked A720s perform better than full powered A5xx with same pwer draw and sustained performance, then we might see huge improvements in overall performance especially in those processes which rely on A5xx cores. Phones might be more snappier, app opening time and animations will improve drastically.
                          Overheating is a major issue, if somehow Mediatek have a solution for that (if under locking helps in that regards), then this gen, mediatek will actually compete in the high end segment. Their GPUs are already better. They need to improve on ISP as well.
                          Only time will tell.

                            Love seeing MediaTek trying new things. Hopefully battery life doesn't get impacted. I'd still take a Qualcomm modem though over MT.

                                    Seeing how the Dimensity 9200 in the 13T Pro does really well under load without slowing down like the iPhone 15 over time with heat. This, is interesting.
